Robert Caramico was an American cinematographer. Robert began his film career while serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1949-1955. Robert served as a combat cameraman for five years, during which time he was held as a prisoner of war in Korea for nine months. After completing his service with the Marines, Robert became a news cameraman for the International News Service before returning home to New York in 1956.
Upon his return, Robert worked in all phases of motion picture visual effects including stop-motion photography, animation, optical effects, and live-action photography. In 1964 Robert relocated to California, where he worked as a director of photography and cinematographer for full length features, television shows, pilots, and miniseries. Robert became a member of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) in 1975, and a member of The American Society of Cinematographers in 1981.
Robert was survived by his loving wife of twenty-six years, Dianna, and his son, Joseph.
