Since 1989, Ciro Cappellari has been working as author, director and
director of photography. His most important works as a director include
"Sin Querer - Time of the Flamingos" winning the Sundance Cinema 100
Award for the best screenplay and best Film in International festival
in Göteborg and was nominated for the European Award "Felix" in 1999.
His first feature film, "Hijo del Rio" ("The Son of the River") won the
Best film in Latin-American film festival Trieste. With his documentary
about the Jazz pianist Abdullah Ibrahim "Abdullah Ibrahim - A Struggle
for Love" obtained the Grimme Award 2005 in Germany.
