  • Trivia
Joe doubled for Charlton Heston in the famous chariot race in Ben-Hur (1959). Joe was driving in the sequence in which Heston's chariot is launched over the wreck of another chariot and the driver is seen falling almost under the horses. Joe suffered a four-stitch cut to his chin while filming that sequence .The sequence looked so dynamic that it was kept in the film.
