  • Hit a three-run inside-the-park home run off Hall of Fame baseball player Roberto Clemente in the 1967 MLB vs Celebrities Softball Game.
  • Glenn Gordon Caron said on the Clair de lune (1985) DVD that when he was casting the role of "David Addison", they pictured someone like Michael Callan. Bruce Willis got the role and became a star.
  • He was born in Philadelphia, the son of Catherine "Kitty" (Schiff) and Louis Calinieff. His father was born in New York and his mother was born in Maryland, both of them to Russian Jewish immigrants. He began using a different surname when he was 17.
