For a number of years in the latter half of the nineteenth century, Julia Calhoun traveled with her second husband Kirt Calhoun, and others as members of the Calhoun Opera Company, a troupe of players who performed in venues throughout the Western United States. Julia, a coloratura soprano and comic actress, went east in 1892 and appeared both on stage and on screen until the 1920s.
