‘California Dreams’ Cast on Reunion Concert: ‘It Was Our Love Project’
Génération Musique (1992)
“California Dreams” may have been a hit 1990s sitcom, airing for four years on Saturday mornings on Tnbc, but aside from a 2010 performance on “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” its cast has rarely come back together publicly in the almost 25 years since the band-within-the-show strummed its last note. But then came reboot and revival culture, and series stars Jennie Kwan and Kelly Packard got an idea for a reunion concert that Packard says became “our love project.”

As they tell it, Packard, who played bass player Tiffani Smith in the series, and co-star Kwan, who played vocalist Samantha “Sam” Woo, were at a concert for another popular 1990s entity when they saw the wild reaction of the crowd. Packard turned to Kwan to ask why they couldn’t do something similar. “I said, ‘We can, we just have to do it ourselves,'” Kwan tells Variety.

The result was a two-show,...

California Dreams: Watch the Cast Reunion on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon
Since last March, Jimmy Fallon has been trying to orchestrate a reunion of the Saved By The Bell cast. Over the past year, castmembers Dennis Haskins and Mario Lopez stopped by for skits. Elizabeth Berkley and Lark Voorhies supposedly agreed to appear and Mark-Paul Gosselaar even stopped by to resurrect his character, Zack Morris.

Haskins wasn't there and Dustin Diamond was excluded but the rest of the cast (including Tiffani-Amber Thiessen) did take part. Now, a year later, Fallon has admitted defeat.

As a consolation however, he reunited the cast of California Dreams, the show that followed Saved By The Bell. Brent Gore, Kelly Packard, William James Jones, Heidi Lenhart, Jennie Kwan, Jay Anthony Franke, and Michael Cade all showed up...
