Won a plagiarism suit against Universal in 1951 over She Wrote the Book (1946), which had plot similarities to a synopsis and treatment he had pitched to Universal in 1938, and which they had on file until he filed the lawsuit. The decision was reversed by the California Supreme Court in 1953.
