Charles Burmeister is an award-winning screenwriter and director.
His script for Columbus Day (starring Val Kilmer) won the Chesterfield Fellowship at Paramount Pictures and was named top 30 of 5,500 scripts in the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences' Nicholl Fellowship.
As director, he won the Special Jury Award at IFFBoston, Best Short Film at Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival, and his Sundance short "Interview" ranked in the top five most purchased short films on iTunes.
His original TV series "The Butcher" (produced by Gary Oldman) sold to Sony Pictures Television and was named Best Pilot Script at UFVA 2023.
He studied screenwriting at the Michener Center for Writers. And he has taught screenwriting at Florida State University, UCLA, and the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
