Fire Country Has Always Hated Gabriela
Image
It is always disappointing when something you’ve been looking forward to for a long time seems to be happening finally, only for everything to fall apart.

That’s how Fire Country is making me feel with the writers’ decision to write out Gabriela Perez in the upcoming season.

Just to recap, it was announced that Billy Burke and Stephanie Arcila will be demoted from their series regular duties in Fire Country Season 4.

(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

The Season 3 finale did not set up such exits, although we have a feeling about how Vince Leone will be written out.

These two departures could not have come at a worse time.

We explored how Billy Burke’s departure would be detrimental to the show, but most of the points made are not directly related to the character’s journey.

However, for Gabriela, it would be antithetical to the work done throughout the...

With the Season 3 finale literally bringing the roof down on his family, Fire Country is setting the stage for Bode’s emotional inferno. And honestly? It’s the bold, gritty shake-up this story needs.

"We’ll See How The Community Heals": Stephanie Arcila's Fire Country Co-Stars React To Gabriela's Looming Exit
Image
Fire Country stars react to Stephanie Arcila's unexpected departure, and how this will impact Gabriela's impending exit. It has been confirmed that Arcila will unexpectedly not return for Fire Country season 4, despite her character having no exit storyline, even among season 3's cliffhanger ending. Gabriela's stalker story came to a conclusion, with crazed stalker Finn attacking her, before being shot by Audrey, but there is no indicator that she will get an exit story.

TV Line interviewed cast members Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, and Jules Latimer at a CBS red carpet event, and asked about why Gabriela will suddenly be missing in Fire Country season 4, and if they'd heard anything. Alejandro revealed that it is a mystery to the rest of the cast, and that the community will need to heal, stating the theme of the show is about family. Farr also revealed that Arcila will be invited back at some point.

Fire Country Season 4: It’s a ‘Mystery’ How Gabriela Will Be Written Out, Say Co-Stars — Watch
Image
Stephanie Arcila’s Fire Country co-stars agree: “It’s a shocker” that she is not returning as a series regular for Season 4 — especially since no exit storyline was even hinted at in last month’s otherwise cliffhanger-filled finale.

Working the red carpet at CBS’ recent schedule-reveal shindig, TVLine asked Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr and Jules Latimer if they had heard anything — or had theories — on why Gabby will suddenly be missing from Edgewater when Season 4 arrives this fall.

"Very Broken": ‘Fire Country' Star Max Thieriot Reveals How Bode Will Handle Vince Possibly Dying
Image
After the jaw-dropping cliffhanger in the Season 3 finale, Fire Country is bracing for seismic shifts as it heads into Season 4. The finale ended with several characters’ lives hanging in the balance, including Vince (Billy Burke), Bode’s father. In the closing moments, Bode joins his grandfather, Walter (Jeff Fahey), on the frontlines of the Zabel Ridge wildfire, but things take a tragic turn when Vince and Sharon (Diane Farr) enter the Buena Vista care center and become trapped inside after the roof collapses. Their fate remains unknown, but with reports confirming Burke’s departure from the series, fans are preparing for the worst. If Vince does not survive the ordeal, Bode will likely be left to deal with overwhelming guilt, especially since he defied his father’s direct order to stay away. Star Max Thieriot has hinted at what Bode’s emotional state might look like if Vince doesn’t make it out alive.

"Certainly Very Broken": Max Thieriot Previews Bode's Reaction To Vince's Fate In Fire Country Season 4
Image
Fire Country co-creator and star Max Thieriot previews how Bode is set to react to Vince's potential fate in the season 3 finale. Bode spent much of the episode dealing with the Zabel Ridge wildfire, when he and Walter are searching for Otto. Meanwhile, Vince and Sharon head inside the Buena Vista building to find them (without the right equipment). While re-entering to locate Walter, the roof collapses, leaving Vince's fate unknown, and concluding the season on a devastating cliffhanger to end Fire Country season 3.

Per TV Line, Thieriot revealed that he was worried about how poorly Bode might respond if Vince winds up dying in Fire Country season 4. During the red carpet interview, he states that Bode will be "very broken," and discusses how much this might impact the troubled character's journey so far. Check out Thieriot's comments below:

Fire Country Season 4: Max Thieriot Worries Bode Will Be ‘Very Broken’ If [Spoiler] Has in Fact Died — Watch
Image
Fire Country star and co-creator Max Thieriot is frankly worried “how poorly” Bode will respond if his firefighter father, Vince, winds up dying in the blaze that closed out Season 3.

When last we tuned into the Friday-night CBS drama, the scene at Walter’s memory care center was mayhem. Racing to the facility after realizing it was in the path of the Zabel Ridge wildfire, Bode and Walter (Jeff Fahey) spent a lot of time hunting for Walter’s pal Otto, eventually finding him sheltered in a closet.

Here’s What Billy Burke’s and Stephanie Arcila’s Departures From Fire Country Means For Season 4
Image
Big changes are ahead for Fire Country Season 4 — some good and some bad.

As we saw during the Fire Country Season 3 finale, three main characters faced certain peril, and we already know that two cast members are done with the show.

I must admit that I have become numb to the show threatening to kill off members of the Leone family, only to have them miraculously survive — but that time may have passed.

(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

As has been widely reported, the Fire Country cast will move on without Billy Burke (Battalion Chief Vince Leone) and Stephanie Arcila (Firefighter Gabriela Perez).

This is where fans will have mixed reactions about where the show is heading, but I am keeping hope alive that it opens some new doors for fresh storytelling.

(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

The writers long ago ran out of stories to tell about Gabriela, having her bounce between Bode...

Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 Episode 4 Review: Symphonies and Secrets
Image
Some relationships work harmoniously like a symphony, whereas others are filled with dysfunctional secrets.

Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 Episode 4 highlighted many problematic relationships, though Wolfie and Tina’s relationship was most on display.

However, it also dove into the control and power dynamics of several other relationships, including Victoria and Imogen.

(Reiner Bajo/Disney)

This was the most enjoyable episode since it combined angsty and dysfunctional relationships with entertaining antics while the guests were high.

While this was Wolfie and Tina’s backstory, this installment still featured enough of everyone else. It felt like an ensemble, while some of the previous episodes felt like they only focused on select characters.

The Rainmaker Trailer Brings Back the USA Network Vibes We’ve Missed
Image
We’re calling it the official return of Blue Sky programming, and it can’t come too soon.

If you’ve been pining for the heyday of USA Network — when law was a little looser, characters were a little quirkier, and drama still knew how to have fun —The Rainmaker might just be the comeback you’ve been waiting for.

Today, the official trailer was released, and we admit it. It knocks our socks off.

(Courtesy of USA Network)

From the mind of John Grisham and the producers at Blumhouse and Lionsgate, The Rainmaker premieres on August 15 on USA, with episodes available on Peacock one week later.

It stars Milo Callaghan as Rudy Baylor, a scrappy new lawyer who loses one job before lunch and lands another under Lana Parilla‘s Bruiser, a no-nonsense attorney who runs her firm out of a rehabbed Taco Hut.

Fire Country Season 3 Saved the Show — Here’s How Season 4 Can Keep the Momentum
Image
Fire Country set the small screen on fire when it premiered.

An intriguing premise, coupled with exhilarating emergencies, captivated millions of viewers.

Fire Country Season 1 was a rollercoaster as they were introduced to the small town of Edgewater and some people who responded to the call, despite the risk to their lives.

(Sergei Bachlakov/CBS)

At the center of it all was Bode, who was a fascinating and aggravating character in equal measure.

However, the first season ended on a terrible note as the writers undid all the work put into the show’s ultimate goal and returned viewers to square one.

Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service Exclusive Clip: Uncovering a Health Horror Show
Image
Think your favorite local diner is safe? Think again.

Gordon Ramsay’s Secret Service is here to remind us why we might want to stick to cooking at home.

In this exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming “Mrs. White’s” episode, Ramsay proves that what we don’t see behind kitchen doors could ruin our appetite for good.

(Fox/Screenshot)

The clip is stomach-turning. And not in the exaggerated TV way — in the real, “I may never eat chicken again” kind of way.

Ramsay uses tiny inspection cameras to probe under stoves and behind shelves, only to find decades of grease, grime, and biological betrayal.

(Fox/Screenshot)

It’s like peering into a culinary crime scene.

One glance at the goop-covered mystery equipment or the vat of what used to be poultry and you’ll be rethinking your next restaurant outing.

Joe Locke and Kit Connor in Heartstopper (2022)
Is Netflix Making the Right Move with a Heartstopper Movie?
Joe Locke and Kit Connor in Heartstopper (2022)
Netflix recently announced its decision to conclude Heartstopper with a movie, rather than another season.

The show premiered in 2022 and is based on a webcomic series created by Alice Oseman.

Dedicated fans widely loved the first three seasons.

(Netflix/Samuel Dore)

Heartstopper is known for its creative animations and storytelling style, which is similar to the comics. It’s also known for its queer representation.

Not many shows like Heartstopper exist to show young queer people and the realistic challenges they face. The range of LGBTQ+ representation in the show is also pointed out as revolutionary.

So, fans have fought to keep Heartstopper going. Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end.

Steven Spielberg’s Daughter Makes Her Horror Debut — and You Can Watch It for Free on Tubi
Image
Summer horror just got a little cooler, and this time, it comes with a Spielberg twist.

Tubi is giving us a thrilling gift on June 27 with the premiere of Please Don’t Feed the Children, the directorial debut of Destry Allyn Spielberg.

Yes, that Spielberg. And yes, she’s diving headfirst into horror, which, as we all know, is the best summer genre. Campfires, slasher flicks, and now a viral dystopia with a creepy title? I’m in.

(Courtesy of Tubi)

The Tubi Original stars Michelle Dockery — Downton Abbey’s icy aristocrat — flipping the script as a woman with a seriously sinister streak.

Giancarlo Esposito joins the ride (as if this cast wasn’t already elite), and the story follows a group of orphans escaping a virus-ravaged world, only to stumble into something even darker.

Let’s just say, surviving childhood may be the least of their problems.

“They’ll Always Have Love For Each Other”: 'Fire Country’ Star Assures Audiences Bode Won't Forget About Gabriela
Image
Big changes are on the horizon for Fire Country when Season 4 premieres, as the show has promised to "keep pushing the envelope." Some of those changes are expected to unravel through the show's efforts to address the departure of two key cast members — Stephanie Arcila, as Gabriela Perez, and Billy Burke, as Chief Vince Leone. Gabriela's romance with Bode (Max Thieriot) was essential to the show's emotional core. Despite their romance being fraught with setbacks, audiences constantly rooted for the pair, hoping Season 3 would reunite them as a couple. Alas, with Gabriela set to leave Edgewater, their future as a couple seems bleak. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Arcila reflected on Gabriela and Bode’s complex connection.

Given how their attempts to move on with other people always fell apart, it seemed like the show was building towards an inevitable reunion for Gabriela and Bode. Consequently, Arcila's departure was shocking.

Gabriella Perez’s Departure: Did Fire Country Do Her Justice?
Image
When the Season 3 finale of Fire Country ended, fans believe that biggest thing they had to worry about what whether or not any of the trapped members of the Leone family would survive the fire.

However, shortly after the end of the finale, it was announce that Gabriella Perez (Stephanie Arcila) would be exiting the show along with another unconfirmed actor. Gabriella’s exit was to leave town.

Gabriella Perez Is Leaving Town

Fire Country spoilers indicate that Vince Leone (Billy Burke) seems to be the other actor who is ready to leave. Gabriella’s exit certainly makes sense for a little while.

After all, Gabriella has been through quiet a bit. Gabriella should probably seek out some professional help at the moment anyway. However, this is not the exit that Gabs deserves.

"I Wasn’t a Part of the Conversation": 'Fire Country's Max Thieriot Addresses Fans' Concerns About the Bella Vista Fire
Image
Shows about the inner workings of firehouses have become common. With some like Chicago Fire having been on the air for over a decade, viewers can almost predict what will happen in many fire rescues. Fans have become aware of protocols and why they are in place, since they affect the narrative's direction. Potential consequences for breaking protocol could see someone booted from their firehouse. That's why procedures and actions in CBS' Fire Country have invited criticism since the show's inception. From too much soapiness in the middle of rescues to questionable grooming for some characters, there hasn't been a shortage of things that don't add up. Case in point was during the two-hour Season 3 finale, which saw the characters battle a huge fire at Walter's (Jeff Fahey) care facility, Bella Vista.

Everyone seemed to avoid safety measures meant to keep them safe as they entered a burning building without any masks or oxygen tanks.

Law & Order Svu Season 26 Episode 21’s Rear Window-Inspired Case Delivers A Powerful Penultimate Episode
Image
Whew! Talk about a disturbing case.

After a mostly lackluster 26th season, the penultimate episode of Law & Order: Svu delivered a dark case that was impossible to look away from.

From beginning to end, this Hitchcockian case kept the audience guessing while the cops investigated a particular heinous crime.

(Ralph Bavaro/NBC) How The Cold Open Was Similar to the Classic Movie Rear Window

I’m thrilled that the cold open was actually short, rather than wasting 10 minutes before getting to the point.

Even better, it was a takeoff on the Hitchcock classic, Rear Window, that went in an even darker direction than the original.

Rear Window stars Jimmy Stewart as a housebound man who witnesses a murder by looking through a telescope at his neighbors’ windows to pass the time, just like the guy in the cold open.

Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Episode 17 Recap: Love You Like a Song

Wedding bells ring for a couple on Grey’s Anatomy.

And we have a full breakdown of the hour right here. If you want our full thoughts on the episode, check out our Grey’s Anatomy Season 21 Episode 17 Review.

In the meantime, let’s get into it below. And if you’re out there, reading and enjoying, share, like, comment. We appreciate all the support and feedback.

(Disney/Anne Marie Fox)

Link and Jo are excited about their wedding day, and Link is surprised that all of his family could show up on short notice. She’s thrilled that Levi is back to marry them.

Teddy and Owen are back from vacation in Hawaii, having therapy and lots of sex, and appear to be in better spirits, which is what Ben hoped for since his future career is in Teddy’s hands.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 1 Episode 20’s Horrible Mother’s Day Was All Too Realistic
Image
That Mother’s Day brunch went about as well as expected.

Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 1 Episode 20 was the comedy’s penultimate episode of its freshman season, and it was all about trying to make Mother’s Day nice when two of the mothers were Audrey and Mary.

Audrey was more obnoxious this time, undoing all the progress she’d made toward becoming a tolerable character.

(Sonja Flemming/CBS) Mother’s Day Didn’t Have To Be A Competition, But Of Course It Was

I wish Mary and Audrey could realize they’re not in competition — there’s enough love, time with baby CeeCee, and attention from their children for both of them.

It wouldn’t be an interesting brunch if everyone got along, though, and these two will never stop thinking the other one is trying to replace them.

9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 17 Finds Hen at a Crossroads, While Buck and Eddie Collide
Image
Another week without Bobby Nash has come and gone on 9-1-1, and it’s still taking some getting used to.

Bobby’s death is a big deal, and the show must treat it that way, which it has to this point, even if they could also be doing more.

9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 17 served as another hour dealing directly with the grief being felt by those left to shoulder the pain of losing an integral part of their lives and finding a way to deal with the sudden chasm his absence leaves in their lives.

(Disney/Ray Mickshaw)

While 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 16 abandoned the “typical” 9-1-1 and was more character-driven with Athena’s case mixed in, and only one emergency, this hour returned to basics with multiple emergencies and a tight focus on the continued fallout from Bobby’s death through character stories.

For Athena, she returned to work,...

Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 Episode 5 Brings Back A Familiar Face After The Most Disturbing Scene Of The Season
Image
Yes! When they mentioned Me Warner on Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 Episode 4, I was disappointed she wasn’t on-screen.

I didn’t expect her to ever be, given Tamara Tunie’s commitment to Beyond the Gates, but I was thrilled about her cameo on Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 5 Episode 5.

It was exactly what we needed after a disturbing, violent, and all too realistic episode that resulted in multiple deaths.

(Virginia Sherwood/Peacock) The Story About The Spezzano Family Took A Grisly Turn (And That’s A Good Thing)

Mob families are violent.

Law & Order: Organized Crime had to be careful when it was on network TV so that it didn’t run afoul of the rules, but even then, it depicted levels of violence usually reserved for cable-only or streaming series.

(Anyone remember that cut-off ear during Law & Order: Organized Crime Season 2?)

Twd: Dead City’s Chaos Continues: Gaius Charles, Kim Coates & Dascha Polanco Spill on Season 2 Fallout Following Blood-Soaked Premiere
Image
If you thought The Walking Dead: Dead City was just another spin in the ever-churning The Walking Dead machine, Season 2 might pleasantly slap you across the face.

We sat down with Dascha Polanco (Narvaez), Kim Coates (Bruegel), and Gaius Charles (Armstrong) to talk all things undead, ungovernable, and undeniably chaotic.

We’re about to delve into spoiler territory, so if you haven’t watched The Walking Dead: Dead City Season 2 Episode 1, you may want to bookmark this page for later!

(Robert Clark/AMC)

Dascha Polanco’s character, Narvaez, stands out in the second season as one of the best.

For her, it’s all about the role and the significance she brings to the show’s world.

Svu Casting Problem: Kate Silva’s Exit Is The Latest In a Longstanding Pattern — And There’s Only One Way Out

Here we go again.

News recently broke that Law & Order: Svu is losing two characters ahead of Season 27.

One of those two characters, to nobody’s surprise, is Juliana Aidén Martinez’s Kate Silva.

(NBC/Viriginia Sherwood) Silva Is One Of Two Characters Leaving, But Her Exit Is More Disturbing

Both Kate Silva and Joe Velasco are leaving at the end of Law & Order: Svu Season 26.

Most likely, these are the two characters that are supposed to get a promotion. They’ll be gone, leaving Benson short-staffed at the beginning of Season 27.

'It's Not a False Alarm': Fire Country's Max Thieriot Talks Season 3 Finale Cliffhanger
Image
This article contains spoilers for Fire Country Season 3, Episode 20, "I'd Do It Again"

After the Season 3 finale of Fire Country shook up the show's story with a major cliffhanger, series star Max Thieriot is warning fans that the ending was not a 'false alarm.' Season 3 finished airing on April 25, 2025, with a two-part final episode.

The end of Fire Country Season 3 saw a deadly blaze hit the care facility where Vince's (Billy Burke) father, Walter (Jeff Fahey), was living. As a result, several characters, including Vince and Sharon (Diane Farr), were at the care facility trying to rescue Walter. The season finale ended with Bode (Thieriot) outside as the burning building collapsed on his family. Thieriot addressed the scene in an interview with TV Insider, saying, "It's not a false alarm."

"There will be some pieces that need to be picked up," the actor explained. "We're motivated to continue pushing the show,...

‘Fire Country’: Max Thieriot Warns Shocking Finale Cliffhanger Is ‘Not a False Alarm’
Image
Whatever the outcome of the Fire Country Season 3 finale cliffhanger, Edgewater will never be the same. Not only did a blaze take Three Rock (they can rebuild), but it also engulfed the care facility where Vince’s (Billy Burke) father Walter (Jeff Fahey) was living. First, Bode (Max Thieriot) helped his grandfather search for his missing friend, and then Vince and Sharon (Diane Farr) were the ones to stay behind to get Walter out. The finale ended with Bode outside, only able to watch as the burning building collapsed on his family. After, it was announced that Billy Burke and Stephanie Arcila (Gabriela) will not be returning for Season 4, but it has yet to be revealed how either will be written out. “It’s not a false alarm,” Max Thieriot told TV Insider at CBS’s celebration of its Fall 2025 schedule. “There will ...

Criminal Minds: Evolution Kicks Off Season 3 With a Killer Who Drowns in Darkness
Image
Criminal Minds: Evolution is back, and it wasted no time diving into dark waters — literally.

Criminal Minds Season 18 Episode 1, “Swimmer’s Calculus,” is a haunting, high-stakes season opener that plunges the Bau into the mind of a twisted killer who uses pools as a psychological battleground.

But as chilling as the unsub’s tactics are, it’s the psychological fallout, ongoing Voit storyline, and Tyler Green’s evolution (pun intended) that make this episode sink its hooks in deep.

(Michael Yarish/Paramount+)

Let’s start with the obvious: seeing anything in the opening scenes is nearly impossible. Paramount+, I beg you to invest in a flashlight or two. The darkness is so thick it borders on parody.

What we can discern involves a capped man slurping coffee and luring a stranger before spraying him in the face with aerosolized fentanyl. A cop arrives, gets tricked by a wasted brother ruse,...

Chicago Pd Season 12 Episode 20 Benches Half of Intelligence But Highlights Ruzek Well
Image
I can’t decide which character displayed their growth best this season: Burgess or Ruzek.

They’ve both had strong enough seasons that it feels like the season has been theirs for the taking, and Chicago Pd Season 12 Episode 20 was another example, giving us more insight into their family life and growth.

Ruzek is such a family man, and nothing has put that into perspective as much as Chicago Pd Season 12.

(Lori Allen/NBC) Catching Cases in the Off Time

It seems Chicago Pd isn’t tired of having intelligence members catch random cases while off duty.

This time, we had the endearing opener of Ruzek with his father, checking in on Disco Bob and trying to ensure that he had handled all of Bob’s business.

Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 20 Puts 51 Through the Ringer — And Not Just From the Heat
Image
Any Chicago Fire episode with a synopsis that includes “With the crew stretched thin, a performance efficiency expert evaluates Firehouse 51” doesn’t give me the warm fuzzies.

I’m sick of a crew that’s stretched thin.

But on Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 20, cutbacks, curveballs, and crushing disappointments reign.

(Peter Gordon/NBC)

“Cut Me Open” might not pack the high-octane action we’re used to, but it still lands a punch, especially for anyone invested in Stella and Severide’s journey to parenthood.

A Skeleton Crew Under Scrutiny

With Pascal out, Violet and Novak at a convention, and Carver still part-time, completing his recovery, the dream team left behind at 51 feels more like the leftovers — at least until they’re thrown into the fire.

Herrmann, Cruz, and Mouch hold it down, but a surprise audit from a hard-nosed efficiency expert known as “The Padlock” puts them instantly on edge.

Lenox finally got the storyline she deserves on Chicago Med Season 10 Episode 20.

NCIS Tuesday, Y: Marshals & Boston Blue: CBS Packs 2025-26 Season With Franchise Firepower
Image
CBS is betting big on brand loyalty this fall, rolling out a franchise-forward primetime schedule that includes new expansions of NCIS, Blue Bloods, and FBI alongside a slate of star-powered unscripted series and first-time ventures.

Coming off its 17th consecutive season as the most-watched network, CBS is focused on delivering “viewer flow” through thematically linked programming blocks and powerful IP.

The biggest surprise is that they’re doubling down on Taylor Sheridan away from Paramount+ with two new shows, one reality and one carrying on the Dutton universe.

(John Paul Filo/CBS ) All In on Franchises

Tuesdays become an NCIS lover’s dream with a triple-block lineup: flagship NCIS, NCIS: Origins, and the international-flavored NCIS: Sydney. This is the first time CBS has fully devoted a night to the NCIS universe — and it’s likely to pay off.

Too Soon, Too Forced: Grey’s Anatomy’s Newest Potential Pairing Is Poorly Executed
Image
I cannot be the only one trying to process whatever Grey’s Anatomy is doing with Jules and Winston.

For the record, the chemistry between them is something that the series tiptoed around since Grey’s Anatomy Season 20, so it’s not like the bold-faced hints about it now have come entirely out of nowhere.

But it’s still enough to make you wonder what the game plan is with this possible pairing.

(Disney/Anne Marie Fox) Grey’s Sacrifices Mentorship for Romance (Again)

In many ways, it feels like a last-ditch effort to give something meaningful to Winston, who has been flailing as a character with limited presence since Maggie’s departure.

Anthony Hill is a great actor when he has the material, but unfortunately, Grey’s Anatomy hasn’t given the guy much to work with for years. His storylines often feel like someone is throwing darts at a list of suggestions pinned on the wall,...

9-1-1’s New Captain Problem: Can Anyone Replace Bobby?
Image
Bobby’s death in 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 15 changes many things for the show.

While it is an ensemble with numerous characters, Bobby was the glue that held the narrative together.

As a highly performing firehouse captain, he linked the dispatch center and law enforcement, making 9-1-1 feel well-woven and complete.

(Disney/Christopher Willard)

The death leaves a gaping chasm in many characters’ lives and presents a major problem for the 118: Can anyone replace Bobby as the station’s captain?

9-1-1 Has Two Paths for Raising a New Captain

Even with Bobby gone, the show must continue, and the firehouse needs a captain to function optimally.

The short-term solution in 9-1-1 Season 8 Episode 16 was to bring in a seasoned captain like Gerrard, who gets the job done no matter what other characters feel about him.

Yet, getting the job done is not the only thing a captain does,...
