It has been confirmed that Arcila will unexpectedly not return for Fire Country season 4, despite her character having no exit storyline, even among season 3's cliffhanger ending. Gabriela's stalker story came to a conclusion, with crazed stalker Finn attacking her, before being shot by Audrey, but there is no indicator that she will get an exit story.

TV Line interviewed cast members Kevin Alejandro, Diane Farr, and Jules Latimer at a CBS red carpet event, and asked about why Gabriela will suddenly be missing in Fire Country season 4, and if they'd heard anything. Alejandro revealed that it is a mystery to the rest of the cast, and that the community will need to heal, stating the theme of the show is about family. Farr also revealed that Arcila will be invited back at some point.

In the closing moments, Bode joins his grandfather, Walter (Jeff Fahey), on the frontlines of the Zabel Ridge wildfire, but things take a tragic turn when Vince and Sharon (Diane Farr) enter the Buena Vista care center and become trapped inside after the roof collapses. Their fate remains unknown, but with reports confirming Burke’s departure from the series, fans are preparing for the worst. If Vince does not survive the ordeal, Bode will likely be left to deal with overwhelming guilt, especially since he defied his father’s direct order to stay away. While re-entering to locate Walter, the roof collapses, leaving Vince's fate unknown, and concluding the season on a devastating cliffhanger to end Fire Country season 3.

Per TV Line, Thieriot revealed that he was worried about how poorly Bode might respond if Vince winds up dying in Fire Country season 4. Some of those changes are expected to unravel through the show's efforts to address the departure of two key cast members — Stephanie Arcila, as Gabriela Perez, and Billy Burke, as Chief Vince Leone. Gabriela's romance with Bode (Max Thieriot) was essential to the show's emotional core. Despite their romance being fraught with setbacks, audiences constantly rooted for the pair, hoping Season 3 would reunite them as a couple. Alas, with Gabriela set to leave Edgewater, their future as a couple seems bleak. In a recent interview with ScreenRant, Arcila reflected on Gabriela and Bode’s complex connection.

Given how their attempts to move on with other people always fell apart, it seemed like the show was building towards an inevitable reunion for Gabriela and Bode. Consequently, Arcila's departure was shocking.

After the Season 3 finale of Fire Country shook up the show's story with a major cliffhanger, series star Max Thieriot is warning fans that the ending was not a 'false alarm.' Season 3 finished airing on April 25, 2025, with a two-part final episode.
