Had a rich, deep voice and worked as a disc jockey in 1953 at WHIM radio in Providence, Rhode Island. In 1958, he was cast on CBS Radio as Luke Slaughter of Tombstone, which, along with the radio version of Gunsmoke, was broadcast as part of a Sunday afternoon western lineup.
