Get ready Mma fans because - Bruce Buffer voice - "It's Time!" for the film and TV industry to have another shot at making an Mma-based drama. Since the sport's conception in the 90s, fans have waited for a great movie or show to give Mma the Rocky treatment. The closest Hollywood has come so far is Warrior, starring Tom Hardy and Joel Edgerton. But, a new series from Netflix titled La Cage (The Cage in English) looks like a strong contender.

Netflix has unveiled the first trailer for La Cage. Starring Melvin Boomer, the series follows an aspiring French Mma fighter with dreams of joining the UFC to rescue his family from poverty. To earn his shot, Taylor must defeat one of France's strongest prospects, Ibrahim (Bosh). Setting an Mma drama in France is an inspired choice, as the sport was only legalized there in 2020, meaning much of the country's talent has gone unrecognized.

The Road House remake is intertwined with UFC, featuring cameos from notable fighters and a fresh take on the story. Conor McGregor shines as the main villain Knox, showcasing his acting chops alongside his Mma skills. With appearances by UFC figures like Bruce Buffer and Jay Hieron, the remake's fight scenes are intense and memorable.

A nickname can brilliantly define a fighter. It can tell a story, send a warning to a rival and be used as a bellowing beacon for commentators.

Whilst not a requirement in the Ufc, the vast majority of competitors in the promotion opt for an alias. A large percentage of them are also very good indeed; usually witty and wise, mean and muscular. Some have become so iconic that the nickname actually becomes an indented asset to their identity; Chuck “The Iceman” Liddell or “Rowdy” Ronda Rousey are perfect examples.

But for every great nickname which sends shivers down the spine when Bruce Buffer growls the introduction, there is always one that will make you cringe and choke on that refreshing beer you were previously enjoying.

Ufc 181 boasted a tremendous lineup on paper, but the odds were that this card was going to change dramatically due to the injury curse that has plagued the promotion. Besides some minor changes, the meat and potatoes of the card were left on the plate which was a refreshing change of pace.

Because of two sensational title fights, along with several results that hold divisional significance, and the signing of a free agent that no one saw coming this show was worth the price of admission.

The road to EA Sports Ufc has been a long and winding one, to say the least. In fact, there was a time where Ufc president Dana White declared that he was “at war” with Electronic Arts over their refusal to make a game and instead took the brand to Thq and Yukes.

While they were toiling away with the Undisputed franchise, EA partnered with rival promotion Strikeforce to make EA Sports Mma. Then, after both Thq and Strikeforce went under, Dana and EA both realized that there was money to be made from the two working together and thus, we ended up here in 2014 with EA Sports Ufc.

In the world of mixed martial arts, the Ufc is a big fish in a medium-sized pond. While the sport may still be growing worldwide, the promotion features its best talent and EA Sports has done a solid job of bringing that to the game.

The much anticipated demo of EA Sports Ufc became available to download yesterday for Xbox One and PS4 owners, ahead of the game’s June 17th release date. For the most part the demo delivered, demonstrating the stunning visuals and enjoyable gameplay which is sure to make this game a success among Mma aficionados and gamers alike.
