Brad Pitt’s Driving in the Apple TV+’s F1 Movie Is So Good He Got Lewis Hamilton’s Seal of Approval
Image
Apple TV+ has been on a roll, dropping some incredible movies and shows that are starting to turn heads worldwide. Their latest addition to the library is the Apple Original movie F1, previously known as Apex — a film about a washed-up driver and a rookie paired in a team that’s used to finishing at the bottom of the grid.

If you were to find the similarities between an F1 car and a fighter jet, it would probably be the inhuman g-force and attention of Jerry Bruckheimer and Joseph Kosinski.

The producer and director’s love for the sense of speed that cannot be achieved without putting someone in the cockpit who knows what they are doing. Tom Cruise, who is also a pilot, killed it with his role in Maverick, and now Brad Pitt getting into an F1 seat has left the F1 legend Lewis Hamilton in awe.

F1 Broadcaster Will Buxton Reflects on Senna
Image
On May 5, 1994, the Brazilian city of São Paulo, a metropolitan area of over ten million people, ground to a halt. In the midst of three days of national mourning, the city simply stopped moving as over half of its population lined its streets to bid farewell to a racing driver on his final journey. Draped in the national flag, his casket was carried live around a community in mourning. Over 30 years later his name still resonates, eliciting the deepest and most heartfelt of emotions. Because Ayrton Senna wasn’t simply a racing driver; he never was.

By the time he arrived in Formula 1 in 1984, Senna was already a phenomenon, having set a new record for race wins in a season in the preparatory British Formula 3 championship. His yearlong duel and rivalry with Martin Brundle, who himself made it to F1 and is today one of...

5 Reasons Why Senna on Netflix Was a Complete Disaster
Image
Netflix has released a highly anticipated biographical drama miniseries on the legendary Brazilian Formula One racer Ayrton Senna. A high-stakes project since its inception in 2020, the show was met with sheer disappointment. The reviews from critics and fans ring a similar tone of dissatisfaction. The legacy of the Brazilian hero was not easy to do justice to. But the Netflix series barely managed to scrape the surface of his life.

A still from Senna miniseries | Credits: Netflix

While the series had great potential of winning hearts with Senna’s larger-than-life story, Netflix seems to have fallen short in its attempt to present a dramatized version of Senna’s life fully. There are many things wrong with this miniseries. However, five significant flaws in the show convince viewers that the show is an absolute disaster.

1. Senna– A Hagiography? Gabriel Leone as Ayrton Senna

‘Senna’ Netflix Ending Explained, Finale Recap & Real Reason Behind Ayrton’s Death
Image
The Netflix miniseries on the legendary racing driver, Senna, covered his whole life story over the course of six very long episodes, with the show’s ending focusing on the lead-up to the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, where he unfortunately perished. Ever since he took up go-kart racing, Ayrton Senna was a stickler for fair play and scoffed at rules that were made to favor the racer that organizers loved. Things reached a boiling point in his professional career when the Fia (Federation Internationale de l’Automobile) disqualified Ayrton’s win at the Formula One Suzuka Grand Prix because of a technicality, thereby prompting him to speak against the organization at a press conference. According to the show, the stress of dealing with the politics of racing while also partaking in death-defying competitions got to him and led to a bad muscle spasm after the 1991 Brazilian Grand Prix. Three years later,...

David Cronenberg’s The Fly To Get Universe Expanding Spin-Off Movie From Nikyatu Jusu
Image
Here's some *ahem* buzzy horror movie news for your Tuesday morning. David Cronenberg's seminal 1986 body horror masterpiece The Fly is set to be the basis for a seemingly Nia DaCosta's Candyman style, universe expanding spin-off at 20th Century Studios. Per Deadline's reporting, Nanny filmmaker Nikyatu Jusu is actively developing, well, The Fly, on which the in-demand rising name in horror will serve as both writer and director.

As Deadline are quick to note, whilst plot details for Jusu's films are being kept shtum at the moment, "sources stressed that it’s set in the universe of Cronenberg’s film, rather than a straightforward remake." Yes, it seems we're heading Into The Brundleverse! Now, how exactly Jusu's movie will tie in to Cronenberg's cult classic remains to be seen, but there's no shortage of possible routes to go down — especially in this modern age of increasingly radical, head spinning scientific experimentation.

“God Damn Incredible”: Brad Pitt’s F1 Movie Trailer Gets Our Blood Pumping But Can It Outrun Another Formula One Masterpiece From An Avengers Star That Came Out 11 Years Ago?
Image
Many fans are anticipating Brad Pitt’s F1 movie with Joseph Kosinski at the helm. Its trailer has just been released and it’s already hyping up the crowd. The film is reported to have one of the most expensive production costs in history, and with that comes the expectations of fans.

Brad Pitt in F1 / Warner Bros. Pictures

Will it be as good as the other Formula One film starring Chris Hemsworth and Daniel Brühl? Yes, these Marvel actors have already worked together in 2013’s Rush, so comparisons would be inevitable once F1 comes out.

Fans Gave Thrilling Reactions To Brad Pitt’s F1 Trailer

F1 is an Apple Original Films production that would follow former Formula 1 driver Sonny Hayes who comes back to the racing arena and mentors rookie teammate Joshua Pearce played by Damson Idris.

“Going to need a miracle to turn a profit”: Brad Pitt’s Upcoming Formula One Movie ‘F1’ Could Meet the Same Fate as His 2019 Flop ‘Ad Astra’, Two Giant Red Flags Hint
Image
Brad Pitt’s upcoming project, Formula One, is already receiving doubts from fans after its budget was revealed. It is reportedly one of the most expensive movies made after it was announced in 2021. Top Gun: Maverick director Joseph Kosinski will be at the helm.

Brad Pitt in Formula One / Warner Bros. Pictures

The film is a massive risk for the studio and its producers, Jerry Bruckheimer and seven-time Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton. After the unfortunate flop of Pitt’s 2019 movie Ad Astra, this sports action drama film would need to have something new to impress the fans and the critics.

Brad Pitt’s Formula One Could Be One Of The Most Expensive Movie Productions Ever

“Everybody talks on the grid, that’s the deal”: Amber Heard’s Friend Cara Delevingne Got a Lot of Hate For Rude Reply to F1 Legend Martin Brundle But It Wasn’t Her Fault
Image
Well, it’s the entertainment industry where interactions often become an instant viral sensation. For example, last year, we witnessed a moment of miscommunication that actually sent ripples through social media. Amber Heard’s friend, supermodel Cara Delevingne, found herself amidst a storm of controversy for what many saw as a rude reply to Formula One legend Martin Brundle during a pre-race grid walk.

Cara Delevingne in Paper Towns | 20th Century Fox

However, could it be that Delevingne was unfairly judged? Brundle, known for his candid grid interviews, approached the London-born model for a “quick chat”. Although she politely excused herself, citing her inability to “hear anything”, the internet backlash was swift and severe.

But was this really a snub, or simply a misunderstanding amplified by the roar of the Grand Prix atmosphere?

‘The Fly II’ Remains Malformed & Misunderstood 35 Years Later
Image
The horror genre is one that frequently insists upon sequels and franchises, even when they’re woefully misguided endeavors. There are too many sequels that are set up to fail and seem financially driven and creatively bankrupt, whether it’s Book of Shadows: Blair Witch 2, The Rage: Carrie 2, or American Psycho II: All American Girl. However, it’s always electric when one of these sequels does something special, different, and audiences are left with a Psycho II or The Exorcist III scenario on their hands. The Fly II is a horror sequel that was largely written off the moment that it was announced, sans David Cronenberg, even if its existence makes sense. The Fly II isn’t superior to its predecessor, but it does excel in many areas that are absent in the original. It brings something new to the table and marks a unique voice in body...

Mkg, whose real name is Colson Baker, wasn’t taking any attempts to engage in questions about his career.

Mkg then asked Brundle about his air piano skills. He then later left the interview and gave a thumbs down.

Brad Pitt Reveals Plot Details of Formula One Movie While Filming at British Grand Prix: ‘You’ve Never Seen G-Forces Like This’
Image
Brad Pitt has revealed some key plot details of his keenly anticipated Formula One racing feature.

Over the weekend, Pitt and co-star Damson Idris filmed for the Apple production during the British Formula One Grand Prix at Silverstone in the U.K., driving laps around the legendary track.

Speaking to former British racing champion Martin Brundle, Pitt told Sky Sports: “It’s all been great. The vibe is amazing, to get to be part of it and tell our story. The teams have opened their doors to us.”

Pitt said that he plays “a guy who raced in the 1990s… who has a horrible crash, craps out and disappears, then he’s racing in other disciplines. His friend, played by Javier Bardem, he’s a team owner, contacts him. They’re a last place team, they’re 21-22 on the grid, they’ve never scored a point. But they have a young phenom,...

Cara Delevingne Responds To Backlash Over Snubbed Martin Brundle Interview At British Grand Prix
Image
Cara Delevingne is speaking out after video of her allegedly snubbing F1 legend-turned-broadcaster Martin Brundle hit the internet.

The video sees Brundle attempt to do a quick one-on-one interview with the model, who was on hand for the British Grand Prix Saturday, but Brundle was quickly rebuked at the door, with a man, seemingly part of Delevingne’s team, blocking him from approaching the “Only Murders in the Building” actress.

When the man said the interview was a no-go, Brundle made his way through the tightly-packed crown and asked Delevingne directly, jokingly informing her that it’s a “rule” that everyone that comes through the Grand Prix’s grid has to talk to him.

Delevingne echoed what the man said, telling Brundle that she wouldn’t be giving any interviews. After saying “no,” a few times to the sportscaster, Brundle walked away, but not without throwing a slight dig at Delevingne,...

The Arrow (1997)
The Arrow in the Head Show gives The Fly II (1989) its dues!
The Arrow (1997)
A new episode of The Arrow in the Head Show has just been released, and in this one hosts John “The Arrow” Fallon and Lance Vlcek are revisiting the 1989 body horror sequel The Fly II (watch it Here). To find out what they had to say about this story of a boy becoming a fly – the latest in a long line of people becoming flies in this franchise – check out the video embedded above!

The Fly franchise began with a short story written by George Langelaan. That story served as a basis for a film that was released in 1958 and spawned two sequels: Return of the Fly (1959) and Curse of the Fly (1965). David Cronenberg’s 1986 remake of The Fly is one of the most popular remakes ever made, and it was soon followed by The Fly II. Brad Pitt Roasted By F1 Fans For Blowing Off Well-Known Journalist Martin Brundle
Image
Brad Pitt is receiving online backlash not for alleged familial abuse that is being revealed in divorce court, but for choosing not to participate in an interview.

The journalist, Martin Brundle was in Austin doing a “grid walk” segment before the U.S. Grand Prix this past Sunday. Brundle is known as a former racecar driver and is well-liked in the F1 community.

This is why some fans were rubbed the wrong way by Pitt in the video. The actor clearly didn’t want to stop for a back-and-forth and seemed to try and avoid the camera before Brundle managed to approach. Brundle asked the actor if he could speak about the F1 film he is reportedly developing, and Pitt just responded with, “No, not yet! Top secret.”

Sam Raimi Came Very Close To Directing A “Wacky” Version Of The Fly II
David Cronenberg’s The Fly is an all-time horror classic and might just be the finest body horror film ever made. Even three decades after it was released, its gross practical special effects still astonish, as does Jeff Goldbum’s twitchily committed performance as the unfortunate Seth Brundle. Despite its firm place in the cinematic canon, however, few recall its sequel, The Fly II.

Released in 1989, the film follows the orphaned Martin Brundle, Seth’s son, as he discovers that he’s got his own special kind of buzz about him. Directed by Chris Walas, the makeup and animatronics director on the original, the film features only one returning cast member (Geena Davis is replaced by Saffron Henderson) and the general consensus is that it’s an entirely unnecessary footnote to the original. It’s not all bad though, as it’s got a totally sweet gore moment where a...

F1 Result: Kimi Raikkonen Wins Australian Grand Prix
Lotus Racing’s Kimi Raikkonen showed exactly why he has been considered a title contender in pre-season with a solid win in Melbourne.

The 2007 world champion finished more than 12 seconds ahead of Fernando Alonso, whose Ferrari showed great pace in the dry conditions. Sebastian Vettel, who had started on pole, finished third.

Vettel’s Red Bull team will be disheartened by their lack of pace, struggling in particular with tyre degradation. “After a good two-three laps the tyres were falling apart,” said the third-placed German. “We couldn’t go as long as other people.”

It was a world away from the latter half of last season, where a Red Bull pole position had almost guaranteed a Red Bull win. Mark Webber, who had an awful start in what could be his last home Grand Prix, passed the chequered flag in sixth place.

Mercedes, too, will be slightly disappointed by the result.

3 Reasons Why Formula One Needs To Change
While it could be argued that the 2012 Formula One season was one of the best on record, it ended up being a two horse race between the usual suspects – Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel.

Yes I admit it was a turn out for the books after the first seven races were won by seven different drivers, including a first win for Mercedes Amg and Nico Rosberg. However, from the European Gp onwards it was plain to see that McLaren, Ferrari and Red Bull had built the best cars and even a rejuvanated Lotus with grumpy Kimi at the wheel could not stop the same old train running.

However, that said the end of 2012 saw some significant changes: one driver has retired again – that’s you Schumacher, one driver has decided to move between teams faster than Martin Brundle on a grid walk – that’s you Ferrari Simulator Tester Pedro De La Rosa.

Sky Sports F1 is Sky’s latest channel to hit the network and it kicks off next weekend at the Australian Grand Prix. Martin Brundle and Ted Kravitz have both left the BBC to join Sky’s coverage and they are joined by former Formula One World Champion, Damon Hill, Natalie Pinkham, Anthony Davidson, Steve Rider, David Croft, Georgie Thompson and Simon Lazenby.

In the interviews, they talk about their favourite drivers, favourite races and what they’re looking forward to in the upcoming season. I have no doubt that Sky will nail the broadcast of this wonderful sport and with this brilliant team of experts, it’ll surely be epic!
