75 Years Later, This Forgotten War Film Is Still 1 of the Most Realistic WWII Movies of All Time (& It Uses Real Footage)
Image
While period dramas are a surefire way to attract a crowd, war films remain some of the most enthralling and spectacular encapsulations of bygone eras. They’re emotionally compelling snapshots of past generations’ struggles. More often than not, they also double as satisfying answers to humanity’s most morbid questions. There’s nothing new about the genre, either. They’ve existed since the invention of film. George Méliès, one of the most prolific early filmmakers, created plenty of prototype wartime docudramas. Though remarkably rudimentary by modern standards, his short works — with such descriptive titles as French Officers’ Meeting and A Naval Review at Cherbourg — represent some of humanity’s oldest war movies.

Of course, modern genre works are more complex. Films like Napoleon and 1917 are high-budget spectacles of cinematic magic. These immersive experiences are perfectly capable of dragging audiences through the mud, grime, and horror of war. However, they’re far from exclusive.

Kid Rock Complained About “snowflakes” Years Before Throwing a Tantrum and Storming Off Stage When Crowd Didn’t Clap For His Performance
Image
After years of preaching against “snowflakes,” Kid Rock just had a meltdown of his own! During a surprise appearance at Jbj’s Nashville club, the rocker expected the crowd to go wild, but when the audience didn’t match his energy, he reportedly lost it. Frustrated by the lack of enthusiasm, he threw a fit and stormed off stage, leaving fans stunned and people online highly entertained.

As expected, social media wasted no time roasting the irony of the situation. The same guy who mocked others for being “too sensitive” just had his own dramatic walk-off over the audience not clapping enough? Here’s exactly how it all went down!

Kid Rock had an onstage meltdown because the audience didn’t clap hard enough!

The night started strong at Jbj’s Nashville, which for those unaware is Jon Bon Jovi’s restaurant, where a...

Kid Rock Storms Off Stage During Birthday Celebration: 'F--k Y'all'
Image
Kid Rock is taking an early exit.

The 54-year-old rock star briefly joined Bon Jovi rocker David Bryan in a birthday celebration on Saturday (February 8) in Nashville, but left the stage before finishing his song after repeatedly scolding the crowd for not clapping.

The Bon Jovi musician turned 63 over the weekend, and celebrated with a party and performance at Jbj’s Nashville, owned by bandmate Jon Bon Jovi.

Keep reading to find out more…

Kid Rock joined the musician onstage in a surprise appearance, singing “Proud Mary” by Creedence Clearwater Revival.

Two minutes into the performance, he stopped singing and asked the band to pause and told the crowd to clap, demonstrating how they should do it.

“F— them. F— them. Hey, hey, stop. If you ain’t gonna clap, we ain’t gonna sing. That’s how it’s gonna go,” he said in footage posted by a fan.

Kid Rock Storms Off Stage After Explicit, Filthy Ridden Tangent
Image
Kid Rock just stormed off of the stage after an explicit, swear-ridden tangent. The music superstar does not back down and this was one of those times when he did not get what he wanted. Therefore, he opted to curse up a storm and then walk away. So, what exactly happened? Keep reading for more details.

Kid Rock Storms Off Stage After Explicit Tangent

Fans of Kid Rock know to expect the unexpected when it comes to the hitmaker. He loves to do and say the most outlandish things yet he is an amazing performer. Rock has had such hits as “Bawitdaba” and “Picture” with Sheryl Crow. Yet, for the last several years, he has become much more conservative and somewhat intolerant. That is reflected in how he behaves at shows but onlookers could never have anticipated what went down at Jbj’s in Nashville, Tennessee over the weekend.

Kid Rock Throws Tantrum Because No One Clapped for Him During Guest Appearance: ‘F–k Y’all’
Image
At 54 years old, Kid Rock has not yet outgrown the tantrum-throwing evident in young children who don’t understand that other people’s celebrations aren’t about them. On Saturday evening, the musician stormed offstage at Jbj’s Nashville, where he made a special appearance during Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan’s birthday jam session.

“Fuck them,” Rock said about the audience as he abruptly cut the band off. “If you ain’t gonna clap, we ain’t gonna sing. That’s how it’s gonna go.” The set continued from there,...

Kid Rock Storms Off Stage After Audience Doesn’t Clap
Image
Kid Rock cut short a performance in Nashville when the audience didn’t clap enough, leading to a petulant outburst from the “American Bad Ass.”

The most awkward part is that it wasn’t even Kid Rock’s own show: He was appearing as a special guest at the birthday bash for Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan, which was being held Saturday (February 8th) at Jon Bon Jovi’s bar in downtown Nashville.

Rock’s appearance came during a cover of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Proud Mary.” As seen in audience footage, Rock, who sounds like he may have enjoyed a few adult beverages, momentarily stopped the performance due to the lack of participation from the crowd. He didn’t like the fact that they weren’t clapping along.

“F**k them. F**k them. Hey, hey, stop,” he said as he lightly shoved aside...

Jon Bon Jovi on Possibly Never Touring Again, Taylor Swift Creating Her Own ‘Industry’ and Coming Close to Landing Val Kilmer’s Role in ‘Heat’
Image
Jon Bon Jovi is a snowbird — the nickname given to people of a certain age who flee their northern homes during the winter months to areas with warmer climates.

It’s late April and the famous New Jersey native is in Palm Beach, Fla.

“My license still says the great state of New Jersey,” the Bon Jovi frontman tells me on this week’s “Just for Variety” podcast. “I’m there when it’s not cold. But when it’s cold, these old bones are on the beach.”

The rocker, 62, is talking and thinking a lot about his age lately. While his Hulu docuseries, “Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story,” chronicles the iconic rock band’s rise to the top, the through line of the four episodes is the singer’s struggle to overcome vocal problems in time for the group’s 40th anniversary tour.

As of today, Bon...

Bongiovi was born on March 2, 1962, in Perth Amboy, New Jersey, and raised in New Jersey. When he was 12 years old, Bongiovi formed his first band, and he founded a second called Atlantic City Expressway (which included future Bon Jovi member David Bryan) when he was 16.

Hulu's New Docuseries Is Perfect If You're Sick Of Hearing About Taylor Swift's Eras Tour
Image
The Bon Jovi documentary on Hulu offers a refreshing break from Taylor Swift's Eras Tour hype. Bon Jovi's journey from the 80s to now is explored in Thank You, Goodnight, a four-episode docuseries. Despite their different stories, both the Eras Tour and Bon Jovi's anniversary concert showcase huge behind-the-scenes work.

For over a year, Taylor Swift's Eras Tour has taken over pop culture, and with its release as a movie in October 2023, it is very hard to avoid, but luckily Hulu has released its own concert documentary, Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, which is a perfect replacement for those interested in music but sick of hearing about Swift. Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story is a four-episode docuseries currently streaming on Hulu, which follows iconic rock star Jon Bon Jovi as he reminisces about his band, Bon Jovi, and rehearses for a 40th anniversary concert.

Shot Through The Heart: Jon Bon Jovi Opens Up About Hulu Docuseries ‘Thank You, Goodnight’
Image
Forty years after putting down the Power Station broom and picking up the microphone, Jon Bon Jovi is in an introspective mood.

The man who co-wrote iconic songs including “Livin’ on a Prayer” and “Keep the Faith” is preparing for the release of Hulu’s four-part docuseries Thank You, Goodnight, directed by Gotham Chopra.

Initially planned as a career retrospective around the band’s 40th anniversary – Bon Jovi’s eponymous album was released on January 21, 1984 – the series added another element to the story, that of its lead singer’s health issues that have raised question marks about the band’s future.

Thank You, Goodnight, which premieres April 26, highlights the highs and lows of being in a band, the drugs and the difficulties of remaining successful and wanting to evolve but not wanting to alienate its audience, in addition to its leader’s health issues. It’s not a “VH1 puff piece,...

‘Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story’ Review: Hulu Rock Doc Is More Leisurely Victory Lap Than Deep Dive
Image
Here is an incomplete list of people who might really enjoy Hulu’s Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story: Longtime Bon Jovi fans, who know this story by heart but love it enough to want to hear it again. More recent converts, eager to fill in the gaps of their knowledge. Individuals who are deeply invested in Jon Bon Jovi as a person, and wondering how he’s been. Jon himself, presumably — though the frontman has stressed that he did not have final cut, director Gotham Chopra has assembled a portrait as reverent as any celebrity might reasonably hope for.

Everyone else — the casual listeners, the total newbies, the gossips and (at least in my case) the critics — can probably keep walking. Thank You, Goodnight is a perfectly nice retrospective, approachable and amiable and affectionate. But that’s not the same thing as saying it’s a particularly insightful one.

Hulu Lands Bon Jovi Docuseries From Gotham Chopra
Image
Bon Jovi is getting the whole band back together for a new docuseries that has been picked up by Hulu.

The streamer has acquired Thank You, Goodnight: The Bon Jovi Story, a four-part series directed by Gotham Chopra.

The announcement comes the day after the 40th anniversary of the release of the band’s debut, eponymous album, which included the hit Runaway.

Hulu says that this project has the “full cooperation” of all past and present members of the band.

Richie Sambora, who joined the band in 1983 after the departure of original lead guitarist Dave Sabo, who is also presumably in the series, quit the band in 2013. The band has most recently featured keyboardist David Bryan, who was the first to get a call after Jon Bon Jovi landed a record deal,...

Wtf Happened to Jon Bon Jovi?
Image
As Skidrow frontman Sebastian Bach sat down after a long day of metal rocking to enjoy some MTV, an energetic pretty boy suddenly appeared before the eyes of Bach. And all he could think was, “What the f*ck is a Bon Jovi and What the f*ck is with all those teeth?”, as smiling was not exactly considered cool amongst the metal-heads of the time. And we can’t forget Twister Sister frontman Dee Snider, who believes that he can pin point the exact moment that metal started to become less metal….when Bon Jovi smiled, creating what many like to call “happy metal”. While others say that Bon Jovi’s music brought a fresh new light to the genre causing millions of other smiles to spread throughout the world. Not being completely miserable and angry all the time was a bold controversial move in the world of rock...

The pic chronicles the televised concert that was pulled together very quickly and headlined Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band, Billy Joel, Alicia Keys, Paul McCartney, Dave Grohl, Roger Waters, Eddie Vedder, Chris Martin, Michael Stipe, Adam Sandler, Eric Clapton, Jon Bon Jovi, The Rolling Stones, The Who and Kanye West. Flash Friday: Constantine Maroulis - From Rent to Idol to Rock Of Ages, Toxic Avenger & Beyond
Today, as a special corollary column to this weekends extensive InDepth InterView with Tony-nominated stage and screen star Constantine Maroulis, we are shining a special spotlight on his career trajectory as he has risen up through the ranks to become one of the most successful alumni of American Idol from humble beginnings in the non-Equity tour of Rent. Since that landmark Pulitzer Prize-winning rock musical, Constantine has carved out a unique niche in the Broadway landscape as one of most charismatic and compelling performers of rock-based musical theatre, who has also shown considerable skills tackling the more diverse scores of shows such as Jacques Brel Is Alive And Well And Living In Paris, The Wedding Singer, and, now, The Toxic Avenger, co-composed by the Tony-winning team behind Memphis comprised of Bon Jovis David Bryan and Joe Dipietro. Matt Blank Channels His Inner Rock Star
I came across this story about Bon Jovi in the Daily Mail. It is accompanied by 2 photos illustrating the longevity of the New Jersey rock band. The caption on the first photo reads: Rock Gods: Bon Jovi at the Monsters of Rock Festival in Castle Donington in 1987. The caption on the second pic says: Still going strong: The band in New York last year. Just one problem -- in the second photo, band members David Bryan, Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora and Tico Torres are flanking Showtime CEO Matt Blank at last year's premiere of Bon Jovi: When We Were Beautiful. Bon Jovi has been a quartet ever since former bassist Alec John Such left in 1994. Maybe they've finally found a 5th member.

HollywoodNews.com: The 64th Annual Tony Awards took place in New York City and paid tribute to some of the best Broadway shows of the year.

Among the top winners were Eddie Redmayne’s “Red,” “Memphis,” and Viola Davis’ “Fences.” Host Sean Hayes (“Promises, Promises”) cracked jokes throughout the night and even came out dressed as Spider-Man to pay tribute to the “Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark,” which is looking at a November opening.

“Glee’s” Lea Michele and co-star Matthew Morrison returned to their Broadway roots with Morrison singing “All I Need is the Girl” from “Gypsy.” Michele then did a solo performance of “Don’t Rain on My Parade” from “Funny Girl.” Both performances were the highlight of the evening among the awards.

The band - Jon Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora, David Bryan, and Tico Torres - will answer all of Lipton's questions and will play a few of their greatest hits.

They have sold more than 120 million albums and played in over 3000 concerts worldwide since their start in 1983.
