‘Grimm’ Movie in Development at Peacock
Image
“Grimm” is coming back from the dead — this time, in the form of a movie.

Peacock is developing a feature-length reboot of the fantasy cop drama, which aired for six seasons on NBC from 2011 to 2017, Variety has confirmed.

Josh Berman, the creator of Lifetime’s “Drop Dead Diva,” is writing the “Grimm” movie, which he is executive producing with the original series showrunners David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, as well as original EPs Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner. Milliner’s Hazy Mills Productions and Universal Television are the studios behind the reboot.

The plot and cast of the “Grimm” movie are kept under wraps, but the original series starred David Giuntoli as Portland Homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt, who discovers he is a Grimm, a guardian sworn to protect the balance between humanity and the mythological creatures known as Wesen. Throughout the series, Nick takes on a variety of menacing opponents...

Looking back at the work of David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf
Feature Louisa Mellor 31 Jan 2014 - 07:00

A look at the pre-Grimm work of co-creators David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, a screenwriting partnership that’s lasted over thirty years…

A poker table in the late seventies, a bathroom in the mid-noughties… television shows have many birthplaces. Had screenwriters David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf not been introduced at a card game over thirty years ago, and had producer Todd Milliner not taken a 2006 shower in which he pondered what existing stories were in need of a modern update for TV, then Grimm might never have existed.

First, that poker game. Greenwalt and Kouf’s friendship began a couple of years before their first official screenwriting credit on 1982’s horror spoof Wacko, a job for which the pair were paid the princely sum of fifteen thousand dollars…

“We did a lot of fun movies back then”

That’s what Greenwalt told Collider...

Can't wait until Tuesday to see what's in store next on "Grimm"? You're in luck -- Zap2it has an exclusive clip from May 14's episode "The Waking Dead."

In it, Bitsie Tulloch's Juliette, in her determination to know everything about Nick's (David Giuntoli) world after recovering her memory, confronts Monroe (Silas Weir Mitchell) and Bud (guest star Danny Bruno). She wants to understand the world of Grimms and Wesen.

Bud, always the jittery one, is horrified at the idea of showing Juliette a Volga (a Wesen's transition process), but Juliette assures him, "Whatever you're scared of, I'm not."  As Bud assures her she's not afraid only because she doesn't know, Monroe admits, "You know, maybe it's time that she did."

Check out the exclusive clip above. "Grimm" airs Tuesdays on NBC at 10 p.m.

Grimm

“Leave It To Beavers” Air Date: 4/27/2012

We begin, as with every Grimm episode, with an excerpt from The Brothers Grimm in Microsoft Word’s papyrus font that previews the plot. This week it concerns the toll to be paid for passing the troll’s bridge. From there, we open on our titular hero Nick, who gathers weapons from his Aunt’s armory and then heads to the woods, where, within moments, he’s tackled by a blutbaden, but not just any blutbaden, our favorite sidekick, Monroe himself. The pair are actually engaged in training, and this is the first instance we’ve seen Nick actually learning how to fight these monsters he’s tracking down. While it’s short, it’s necessary, because I was wondering how Nick could defend himself against all these beasts in hand to hand combat, and this makes it a tad more believable (of course,...

'Grimm' bosses preview final stretch of season 1
David Giuntoli in Grimm (2011)
The odds were stacked against Grimm from episode 1. It was a new, hour-long, fairy tale-based drama with a procedural hook debuting on a Friday night. But even with its challenges, it also proved it has more bite than anyone anticipated, debuting to 6.5 million viewers and maintaining steady numbers throughout the season. So when it was recently renewed for a second season, executive producer David Greenwalt admits it put “a little bit of a skip” in their step. But the time to celebrate was brief, as the massive task of closing out their season lies before them.

In a season that...
