In the mid-'60s she worked at the May Company Department Store (now Macy's in Westwood, CA) in the fabric and yardage department, a job she truly enjoyed. Her home was within walking distance of the store.
She had one son, William James Flavin, a professor.
Her management company in the 1930s was the David H. Thompson Agency.
