On Thursday, Paramount+ with Showtime revealed the first trailer for “The Agency,” the upcoming spy thriller from producer George Clooney and director Joe Wright with Michael Fassbender in the lead role.

Fassbender plays Martian, a “covert CIA agent, ordered to abandon his undercover life and return to London Station. When the love he left behind reappears, romance reignites. The Agency gets its first trailer, teasing an intense spy thriller series starring Michael Fassbender. Serving as an English-language remake of French series The Bureau, The Agency stars Fassbender as Martian, a CIA operative who finds himself unraveling in the midst of a dangerous operation. The show also stars Richard Gere, Jeffrey Wright, Katherine Waterston, and Jodie Turner-Smith, and is set to premiere on Showtime on November 29.

The official Showtime YouTube channel now releases the first trailer for The Agency, revealing more details about the show. The trailer teases that Fassbender's character won't just be facing external threats due to his undercover work in the CIA, but that his own agency could be hanging him out to dry. The footage in the trailer is careful not to reveal too much, and certainly teases that there's more going on here in terms of what Martian is trying to accomplish and what triggered his shift in consciousness.
