The American actor with German roots Bruce Bennett ("Tarzan") was originally also called "Hermann Brix.".

Brix became well-known as film actor in German cinema during the war years, mostly at Terra-Filmkunst.

He studied German and Medicine first, took acting lessons after that, and in 1936 he debuted on stage in Prague.

From 1966 on, he taught drama at the university of Innsbruck and was manager of the Studiobühne.
