Biography

    • Tony Briggs is an Australian actor, writer, producer and theatre/stage performer. Briggs is best known for his roles on Océane (1994), The Circuit (2007), he also appeared in season 2 of award winning Australian drama Wentworth (2013) as Steve Faulkner, as well as appearing in Cleverman (2016) and made more more appearances on many other television shows.

      Briggs also created the stage play Les Saphirs (2012) which would also be adapted into film in 2012 which would receive three award wins one at the AACTA awards and two from the Australian writers guild.

      Briggs' passion for theatre cultivated in performing in the Melbourne, Sydney and Queensland companies respectively.

  • His mother, Laurel Robinson, was a member of the real-life singing group of Aboriginal girls from Australia whose story he told, as co-writer of the screenplay, in the 2012 movie Les Saphirs (2012).
  • Co-wrote Les Saphirs (2012), the true story from the 1960s Vietnam era about a singing group of Aboriginal girls from Australia, one of whose members was his mother Laurel Robertson.
