The ending of "Bones" in 2017 wrapped up a highly successful 12-season run that balanced relationship drama, comedy, and grim procedural plot arcs in a way few other shows have managed to do. After years of investigating some of the worst crimes in fiction, the Fox show's personable cast of characters walked into the sunset with full intention to keep up the good work, which is why fans have been clamoring for Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and Temperance Brennan (Emily Deschanel) to return for "Bones" season 13 since the show ended. They're not the only ones, either. Both Deschanel and Boreanaz are open to a "Bones" return, and the latter even has the perfect pitch for a "Bones" revival (should the opportunity arise).

Still, these things take time. While fans are waiting for more information about the series' possible return at some point down the line, it would sure be nice to...

Lionsgate’s Devilreaux is headed our way this weekend, and Bloody Disgusting has been provided with an exclusive clip that previews the Tony Todd-starring horror movie.

The trailer wisely puts a spotlight on Todd’s scenes in the movie, showing him giving intense line delivery and striking down his enemies.

The marketing info says this film will spark "dinner table conversation", of course. But it looks a bit too cheesy and a bit too obvious to pull off anything like that.

It’s difficult where to start with Warner Brothers rebooted feature of Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase, directed by Katt Shea. For all intents and purposes, it’s a harmless rendition of a young adult detective story targeted at that specific audience “young adult”. It’s not meant to be consumed by all manners and corners of cinema-goers and to that respect, it’s difficult to fault both the production and the final product of a film that’s the definition of harmless fun. The first trailer for Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase has been released by Ellen DeGeneres' A Very Good Production. Sophia Lillis stars as the titular character this time around from a story based on the 1930 book by Mildred Wirt Benson, who wrote it under the pseudonym Carolyn Keene. The book is from the second volume of Nancy Drew stories and Benson considered it to be her favorite of all the stories that she wrote.

It star Sophia Lillis was announced as the star of Nancy Drew and the Hidden Staircase back in April of 2018. After the announcement, production began in June, which is also when It 2 was filming. In the first trailer for the movie, Lillis seems like she was perfectly cast as the young detective. Drew is a smart high schooler with a penchant for keen observation and deduction, who stumbles upon the haunting of a local home.

A group of hikers set off for ten days of camping in the remote forest of – I don’t know. Did the movie ever tell us where they were, or could I just not pay attention? Beacon Point is the kind of movie you have to watch in an isolation chamber because even the slightest distraction is more interesting than this hour and a half hiking montage.

However, the film began with promise. Two hunters stalk the forest but are quickly turned to pray by an unseen monster. The scene wasn’t very frightening, it was shot in the daylight and happened very quickly, but at least it had a body count. And this was supposed to be a sci-fi horror movie…right?

Actors Nicole Shipley and Atli Oskar Fjalarsson have been added to the cast of the upcoming thriller film Sable.

Shipley has been in several films (Club Lingerie, Guardians of The Galaxy, Jailbait) and Fjalarsson is an Icelandic actor that was written up in Variety as one of the rising stars from Europe.

When speaking about the actors, Director Michael Matteo Rossi told us "Having known Nicole for a few years now and having worked with her on a past film; I was indeed thrilled to have her come on board. After I cast Nicole, I thought of Atli (who I had met somewhat recently) to play the boyfriend and they had fantastic chemistry together on set and were a joy to work with. The interesting thing about both of them is that they are young stars truly on the rise and really added to the overall quality of the film.

You’d have to be living under a rock not to have experienced the ubiquitous hype surrounding the recent Valentine’s Day release of Fifty Shades of Grey, the film adaptation of E.L. James’s erotic novel of the same name.

Maybe you’re of the camp that sees Christian Grey as a brooding, romantic figure to fantasize about. Maybe you see Fifty Shades as disgusting, misogynistic trash that glorifies troublesome (but all too relevant) horrors like domestic abuse, stalking, and brainwashing. Whichever camp you hail from, it’s more than a little likely that you have strong opinions about the film, the characters, and the way the storyline addresses certain themes.

That’s exactly why I was intrigued when I first caught wind of Michael Matteo Rossi’s Misogynist.

Misogynist has been described by writer/director Rossi as “the antidote to Fifty Shades of Grey...

The good thing about a movie called Misogynist is that viewers are already prepared to watch piggish male characters take advantage of vulnerable females, which prevents all the politically correct whistleblowers from sharpening their spears as the movie starts. Michael Matteo Rossi’s gender-exploiting thriller dares to challenge Fifty Shades Of Grey for anti-romantic dominance, and while it’s an ambitious attempt, sleek camerawork isn’t enough to save this rushed, underwhelming web of deception. Running at a brisk 77 minutes, Rossi struggles to pace what feels like only three short scenes glued together by some marshmallow fluff that’s lost its flavor. Misogynist is a bit of a premature squirt, leaving us as unsatisfied as the poor, mistreated women who are left with nothing but a regretful night and a story better forgotten.

Michael Matteo Rossi's the Misogynist is getting set to debut on DVD and VOD platforms. The film is an interplay between a young protégé, Harrison, and a mentor, Trevor, who specializes in seducing the opposite sex. However, Harrison finds himself trapped in a web of deceit, when Trevor's true intentions are revealed. Midnight Releasing will handle the film's launch, which begins in early March. As well, the film stars Jonathan Bennett (Mean Girls), Jon Briddell (Midnight Movie), Eve Mauro (Osombie), Tracey E. Bregman, Danielle Lozeau, Kris Black, Alia Raelynn and Adam Treska. A preview for the film's debut is hosted here. Also, the film's trailer tells more of the story within the Misogynist. Trevor (Biddell) promises control and domination, while seated in the darkness. Very mysterious, Trevor hides a malicious intent. The DVD release will host several special features. The home entertainment release will offer behind-the-scenes clips, along with an audio commentary.

Starring Jonathan Bennett and Jon Briddell, the film revolves around the titular misogynist, named Trevor, who spreads his ideology of women to anyone who will listen, promising young men everywhere that they can control the opposite sex if they learn from him. However, when a young student named Harrison, who views Trevor as a father figure, starts to get in too deep with Trevor’s misogynistic teachings, he starts to realize that his mentor might have a sinister ulterior motive.

The distribution company Midnight Releasing will be releasing writer/director Michael Matteo Rossi's new psychological thriller Misogynist on March 3, 2015.

Rossi's story revolves around a slick misogynist named Trevor along with his new protégé. Trevor's goal is to teach men around him his ideologies and techniques about how to handle the opposite sex. However, it soon becomes apparent that Trevor has other, more sinister plans for that of his best student, Harrison.

Misogynist DVD will be accompanied by special behind the scenes clips as well as audio commentary. The film is currently available to pre-order from Amazon and Brain Damage Films.

Here at Dread Central we love women. Love them! They're the greatest thing about this horror genre we love. However, in the new film Misogynist that isn't the case for the lead character, Trevor. I hate him already!

Veteran actor Jon Briddell stars as Trevor in this dark drama/thriller that the film's writer/director/producer Michael Rossi describes as "American Psycho meets Fight Club". That's quite the comparison. Now we're definitely interested.

Synopsis

The desert sucks. Hot in the day, cold at night. Every kind of poisonous animal you can imagine. A great setting for a horror film, and the folks behind Dead Stop were savvy enough to recognize that. Check out the second trailer here!

The victims in the film are stranded in the desert and being hunted by…well, we're not exactly sure what it is, but it's pissed and it's hungry. Dead Stop was written by Josh Jacobs, directed by Jonas Stolpe and stars Cathy Baron, Jon Briddell, Nikki McKenzie, Sarah Flannery, Michael Rupnow, Devin Leigh, Brian Ramian and Nikolai Stolpe.

Originally released back in 2009, Midnight Movie was a cult hit amongst horror fans, gaining praise for its cool killer and 80s slasher stylings. Jump forward to 2011 and Bigfoot Entertainment gave director Jack Messitt a chance to go back and revisit the film, producing the flick he originally wanted, with newly shot scenes, restored footage from the original shoot, new VFX and new score composed just for this iteration of the movie which was dubbed Midnight Movie: The Killer Cut.

We're just a few days away from September 30th start of the Big Bear Horro-Fi Film Festival, and a few announcements have come out over the past few days with regard to additions to the lineup along with news of a world premiere taking place at the event.

11/11/11, director Keith Allan’s newest film for The Asylum, which is being released on November 1st, makes its world debut a month early at the 2011 Big Bear Horro-Fi Film Festival. 11/11/11 screens at the Festival’s Opening Night on Friday, September 30, at the Big Bear Performing Arts Center.

“We are honored and thrilled to have Keith’s film make its debut here at the Festival,” said Christopher Gaida, Director of Programming. “I know it’s going to be well received and will set the dark, creepy tone we love to have over this horror weekend. I have goose bumps already!”

Here is your early warning that The Asylum will be trying to capitalize on another blockbuster release. This time Darren Lynn Bousman's 11-11-11 is being clearly copied to swindle wayward buyers out of their hard earned dollars. The Asylum's doppelganger this time is 11/11/11 and unbelievably, they have another title copying Bousman's film called 11/1/11. Notice the removal of one digit here folks. All three films involve themes of a spiritual apocalypse, with The Asylum's version much lower budgeted.

This reviewer would love to interview someone at The Asylum to find out how well these copies perform financially. Apparently they are successful as this film production and distribution company has created dozens of films that copy blockbustes. To test your film knowledge, try to identify the films copied in the following titles: Battle of Los Angeles, Paranormal Entity, Transmorphers, Titanic II, The Terminators and The Day the Earth Stopped. How well did yo do?...

The Asylum is mock-bustering again, and this time it’s for Darren Bousman’s apocalyptic thriller 11-11-11, which comes out on that date. The Asylum’s 11/11/11 comes out November 1st, and Dread Central has some new stills from the film, which aren’t all that riveting.

As soon as I write a story about a few new Asylum movies, they have to go and update their website with the first production stills from their upcoming horror movie 11/11/11, not to be confused with Darren Lynn Bousman’s 11-11-11, though I suspect that might be part of the master plan.
