Beyond Paradise season 3 has been announced and news about the cast, story, and more has been slowly rolling out since. The first of two spinoffs of the BBC One comedy crime series Death in Paradise, the other being Return to Paradise, Beyond Paradise premiered in February 2023, with season 2 coming a year later, in April 2024. Like its parent show, Beyond Paradise is a highly underrated British detective TV show with a similar tone and style to Death in Paradise and even has a returning face.

Di Goodman starred in Death in Paradise from season 3 to season 6, before leaving to go back to London to live with his girlfriend Martha Lloyd (Sally Bretton). Humphrey joins the local coastal police force near Devon, bringing a new approach to the stagnated department.

Kris Marshall will continue to fight crime in a Christmas special and third series of Beyond Paradise. More details here.
When Robert Thorogood pitched his idea about police drama set in the Caribbean, he could scarcely have imagined the gargantuan hit it would become. Death In Paradise recently broadcast its 13th series, with Ralf Little departing. His replacement has not yet been revealed.
The huge success of the series led to a spin-off, Beyond Paradise. Developed by Thorogood and Hustle creator Tony Jordan, Kris Marshall reprises the role of Humphrey Goodman, who solves crimes in the fictional town of Shipton Abbott, near Devon, as he attempts to juggle his job with his relationship with Martha, played by Not Going Out star Sally Bretton

Death In Paradise has been one of the BBC’s most successful dramas in recent years. Created by Robert Thorogood in 2011, the show’s thirteenth series is about to hit our screens. It has seen Ben Miller, Kris Marshall, Ardal O’Hanlon and current detective Ralf Little solve a remarkably high number of murders for such a small Caribbean island.
Last year, Marshall’s character Humphrey Goodman starred in spin-off Beyond Paradise, which paired him with Not Going Out star Sally Bretton and relocated the action to Cornwall. Warning: This contains spoilers for Not Going Out
Back in 2015, during a BBC Breakfast interview about series seven of Not Going Out, presenter Bill Turnbull asked Lee Mack: “Did you ever imagine when you first got that pilot that you’d get seven series?”
“I didn’t think we’d even get a series,” Mack answers incredulously, explaining that even going from script to a pilot episode felt like “the biggest hurdle”.
And yet, eight years later (17 since the show began in 2006), Not Going Out has now almost doubled its series from seven to 13, still regularly pulling in audiences of over four million, with the newest series arriving on BBC One on Friday 23rd June at 9pm. As ever, the show will focus on Lee Mack as a fictionalised version of himself, alongside his landlady-turned-wife and sparring partner Lucy, and their eventful and often farcical life together.

Following on from the hugely popular BBC series Death in Paradise, comes the new spin-off, Beyond Paradise, where we swap the golden beaches of the Caribbean for…. Devon. The returning character is fan favourite, the detective Humphrey Goodman, and we had the pleasure in taking part in a junket where we got to speak to Kris Marshall, who plays the role, alongside his on-screen partner Sally Bretton, and mother-in-law Barbara Flynn.
But it wouldn’t be a spin-off without a host of new characters, and we also spoke to Dylan Llewellyn and Felicity Montagu. We not only discussed their new roles, but two of their more memorable from other shows, as Llewellyn firstly tells us what it meant to him to hear that Martin Scorsese is a Derry Girls fan, while Montagu talks about the iconic role of Lynn Benfield from I’m Alan Partridge, as she tells us whether...

Not Going Out has become quite the sleeper hit. Despite slipping under the radar somewhat, it has lasted seven series and a couple of Christmas specials.
Katy Wix, who plays the insanely ditzy Daisy in the BBC One sitcom, is hopeful that it will return for an eighth - and apparently there are talks happening.
"I think there are discussions in rooms going on, in the corridors of power at the BBC," she told Digital Spy. "So I'm waiting to hear myself, I suppose."
Creator Lee Mack stars in the comedy as Lee, a fictional version of himself, alongside his love interest and flatmate Lucy (Sally Bretton). Tim Vine left the show after five series as Lucy's brother Tim.
Speaking about the sitcom's lasting power and continued popularity, she said: "What's really lovely about it is it's always such a warm response from members of the public and stuff. It could be Twitter,...

Ricky Gervais has confirmed that The Office's David Brent will be heading to the big screen with his own movie, Life on the Road.
So as we anticipate what Brent has been up to since the end of the BBC hit comedy, here's what the cast have done since:
Ricky Gervais
Ricky Gervais played the lead role as David Brent - the embarrassing, toe-curling and cringeworthy boss of company Wernham Hogg, devoid of self-awareness but poised with an unwavering love for the paper merchants he manages.
Gervais went on to create comedy Extras with Stephen Merchant, which was co-produced by the BBC and HBO and aired between 2005 and 2007. Gervais played ambitious actor Andy Millman, afflicted with a useless agent played by Merchant. Guest stars have included Patrick Stewart, Samuel L Jackson, Ben Stiller and Kate Winslet.
In 2009, Gervais starred in, wrote and directed his feature comedy debut The Invention of Lying.

Lee Mack's Not Going Out returns to the BBC for its sixth series this evening, with an episode that proves there is life after Tim Vine...
The shadow of My Family hangs over the long-running British sitcom. It shouldn't do, but there's little getting around it: there's a perception that the longer a show goes on, the happier it is to rest on familiarity, rather than continuing to work hard at making people laugh. Granted, there are exceptions to the rule, but it's surely no coincidence that many of the most fondly remembered British situation comedies left the stage before they went stale. Even Only Fools And Horses, generally regarded - with some justification - as Britain's most warmly thought of long-running sitcom only had seven actual series, with the last few years of its run made up of specials.
Which brings us to Not Going Out.

Happy Easter, everybody! Today may be the only day where you can get away with overdosing on wonderful, chocolatey things, but happily there's some equally delicious telly treats to enjoy, without guilt, over the entire week.
Yes, the next seven days sees not only the return of Game of Thrones and Jonathan Creek, but also the sure-to-be-thrilling conclusion of The Walking Dead's third season. And of course no Tube Talk rundown would be complete without a mention of the latest Doctor Who episode.
'The Rings of Akhaten' (Saturday, April 6 at 6.15pm on BBC One) sees the Doctor (Matt Smith) and new assistant Clara (Jenna-Louise Coleman) on a day trip with a dark twist when they go to check out a festival on the rings of a faraway planet.

Not Going Out is to return to BBC One for a sixth series this April.
Lee Mack (Lee), Sally Bretton (Lucy) and Katy Wix (Daisy) will all return for the new episodes, though Tim Vine will not be back.
Wix recently told Digital Spy that the other cast members "did everything to persuade" Vine to return, but said that the comic had "his reasons" for moving on.
Bobby Ball will make another appearance in the new series of Not Going Out as Lee's trouble-making father, while other storylines will include a jealous Lee fighting for Lucy's attention when she reunites with her first love, and Lee, Lucy and Daisy getting stuck in a cable car on an Eastern European skiing trip.
Not Going Out was originally cancelled after three years, but was later revived by the BBC, with a fifth and sixth series being ordered together after a fourth run attracted impressive ratings.
