Ivan Bratanov was born on September 11, 1920 in the village Haydar, Kardam area, Bulgaria. He studied in his native village and later in the town Popovo. He served in Struma's Working Squad in 1943 and 1944. Cinema actor Ivan Bratanov is a legend for the older generation of Bulgarians.
