"Sympathy For Ernest" is overall a narrative exercise and a camera concept experiment that tries on its scale to challenge the relationship between audience and filmmaker. This short sample of the film underlines the quest and distress of Ernest, the main character, and gives the overall atmosphere of the film. The film invites the audience to spend a couple of days in the company of Ernest, a cellist in his late fifties, who's just come back home after a long time away. The man is coping with great loneliness, but the melancholy of his days will soon be enlighten by the achievement of his aim.
