Biography

Tom Brainard is widely recognized as a visionary, deeply principled businessman and storyteller. Early in his career, Tom came to understand that story is a fundamental building block of change. It is this relentless pursuit of change for good that has informed his personal and professional life ever since. To date, Tom has nearly three decades of experience telling stories, building projects, businesses and teams around a common goal of inspiring and entertaining audiences, locally, nationally and globally.

In addition to producing, overseeing content strategy and execution for numerous entities, Tom is Founder and Principal of Bolder Media, LLC., a documentary and unscripted production company. Tom has worked on dozens of feature film, television and commercial projects for global studios and category brands.

For his work, Tom has earned recognition and awards from various associations including the American Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, International Telly Awards, AdWeek, Colorado Broadcasters Association & Westward magazine.

As a producer and director, Tom has overseen the vision and execution of hundreds of hours of content and worked with people from all walks of life including Steve Forbes, Walter Isaacson, Tom Selleck, Martha Stewart, former. Ca. Governor Gray Davis, Ca. Governor Gavin Newsom, Co. Governor Jared Polis, Co. Senator Michael Bennet, businessman Philip Anschutz, legendary mountaineer Conrad Anker, The San Manuel Band of Califiornia Mission Indians and hundreds more. In the music genre, Tom has worked with dozens of musical artists, venues and festivals including Nathaniel Rateliff and the Nightsweats, NeedtoBreathe, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Yung Gravy, Shane Smith and the Saints, Red Rocks Summer Concert Series, Grand Lake Folk Festival, Planet Bluegrass and The Telluride Bluegrass Festival.

Tom has led presentations and panel discussions on topics ranging from filmmaking and leadership, to music, immigration, homelessness, politics and history.

Tom is a native of Colorado. He is a passionate family man, avid traveler and outdoor enthusiast. He divides his time between Los Angeles and Boulder, where he with his wife Anne, and their two young children, Layla and Maddock.
