Rut Brandt was born on 10 January 1920 in Hamar, Norway. She was married to Willy Brandt and Ole Olstadt Bergaust. She died on 27 July 2006 in Berlin, Germany.
Second wife of West Germany's chancellor Willy Brandt. They had three children: Peter (born 1948), Lars (born 1951) and actor Matthias Brandt (born 1961).
