Brannon Braga at an event for Star Trek: Voyager (1995)

Trivia

Brannon Braga

Edit
  • Has slipped several less-than-subtle references to his birthplace into numerous Star Trek films and episodes. An episode of "Star Trek: The Next Generation" made reference to a character referred to as "the butcher of Bozeman". Episodes of that series and the films Star Trek: Generations and Star Trek: First Contact all make reference to a starship Bozeman. The film Star Trek: First Contact features humanity's first contact with alien life taking place in central Montana (later, an episode of "Enterprise" would establish it to be in Bozeman, Montana). And the film Star Trek: Insurrection featured a character named Gallatin
  • In the movie "Star Trek: Insurrection", the character Gallatin was named after Gallatin county Montana, where the town of Bozeman is located, which is where Brannon Braga was born.
  • Brannon Braga co-wrote "Star Trek: Generations", the movie which sees the end of the legendary Captain Kirk, and is subsequently blamed for his death. He is reported to have received death threats after the movie's premiere.
  • Stepped back as head writer on "Enterprise" (2001) and transfered some duties to new showrunner Manny Coto in 2004 starting with season 4.
  • One of the many screenwriters to submit a draft for the film Freddy contre Jason (2003).
  • Coming from Kent State and the University of California at Santa Cruz, Braga produced music videos before joining TNG's writing staff in season 4, co-writing a teleplay for the episode "Reunion" (4.7, 5 November 1990) with then exec story editor Ronald D. Moore.
  • Native of Canton, Ohio. Attended Kent State University.
