    Nat 'King' Cole recorded a song written by Bowers and Maurice Murray called "Half A Mind" on June 10, 1955 in Chicago but the four songs recorded at that session with Nelson Riddle and his Orchestra were rejected or lost by Capitol Records. Bowers later recorded the song for Columbia Records.
