Netflix finally released the long-awaited A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter, featuring ten excellent performances of various songs. A Nonsense Christmas with Sabrina Carpenter features a stellar cast, with many surprise special guests, performers, and cameos who join Carpenter in a fun-filled holiday special. Mariah Carey
The 15 Worst Christmas Songs of All Time
Mariah Carey
It’s that time of the year again. Mariah Carey has been defrosted. “Black Friday” sales seem to last for weeks. Last-minute treks to the gym fail to absolve your guilt over that third slice of pecan pie. Unfortunately, we’ll also have to endure a litany of ill-conceived and poorly executed Christmas songs that are inexplicably resurrected every year, and will likely be until time immemorial. Here are 15 of the absolute worst offenders. Apologies in advance.

Editor’s Note: This article was originally published on November 28, 2011. Need a palate cleanser? Check out a playlist of some of our holiday favorites.

15. Sia, “Puppies Are Forever”

A track from Sia’s 2017 collection of holiday originals, Everyday Is Christmas, “Puppies Are Forever” is a reggae-vibed public service announcement about, well, how puppies are not forever: “They’re so cute and fluffy with shiny coats/But will you love ‘em when they’re old and slow?...

Created by Chris Brancato and Paul Eckstein, Godfather of Harlem tells a story inspired by infamous crime boss Bumpy Johnson (Whitaker), who in the early 1960s returned from eleven years in prison to find the neighborhood he once ruled in shambles. Season 3 will find Bumpy Johnson continuing to battle for control of Harlem, with other aspirants to the throne, namely the Cuban Mafia from neighboring Spanish Harlem. Taking on the Cuban mob will put Bumpy, his loved ones, and his community in the crosshairs of not only the rival Italians, but ruthless Latin assassins and, ultimately, the CIA. Godfather of Harlem is a...

Santa Claus (1959)
31 Facts You Didn't Know About Christmas
Santa Claus (1959)
Tis the season to be...well informed. We all love Christmas, but how much do any of us actually know about why Christmas is the way it is? Here are 31 facts about Christmas trees, Santa Claus, and Rudolph that you (probably) didn’t know. Smarten up! 1. Christmas supposedly marks the birth of Jesus Christ on December 25. But there is no mention of December 25 in the Bible and most historians actually believe he was born in the spring. 2. December 25 was probably chosen because it coincided with the ancient pagan festival Saturnalia, which celebrated the agricultural god Saturn with partying, gambling, and gift-giving. 3. Many of the popular Christmas traditions today found their roots in Saturnalia: Branches from evergreen trees were used during winter solstice as a reminder of the green plants that would grow in spring when the sun gods grew strong. 4. These evergreen branches became the foundation of our Christmas tree. Germans are thought...

‘Boardwalk Empire: The Complete First Season’ – Exclusive clip
Executively produced by Oscar-winning director Martin Scorsese and from the pen of Terence Winter, Emmy Award-winning writer of The Sopranos, Boardwalk Empire: The Complete First Season is out on DVD and Blu-ray this Monday, and we have a clip from one of the many special features that appear as an extra on the release that takes a look at speakeasies that still stand today:

Steve Buscemi (Armageddon, The Big Lebowski) stars in this explosive HBO drama series set at the dawn of the Prohibition era, when the sale of alcohol became illegal throughout the United States. Charting the birth of organised crime, the series chronicles the life and times of Enoch ‘Nucky’ Thompson (Buscemi), the Atlantic City treasurer whose double role as politician and bootlegger makes him the most powerful man on the Boardwalk.
