Biography

Mike was born in Toronto, Canada 1970 but grew up in Switzerland since he was one year old. His Swiss parents and his older brother settled on a farm in the Canton Baselland.

During his childhood in Switzerland, Mike was a multi-talented athlete and, at the age of sixteen, he was a five-time medal winner in gymnastics and track & field before he started 20 years of weight training.

In 1986, Mike graduated from high school and four years later earned his diploma in civil engineering design. In 1990, Mike served honorably in the Swiss military.

The pessimistic environment of Switzerland made Mike increasingly unhappy and, as a result, he became depressed because of the seeming futility of his life.

Searching for happiness, Mike abandoned his architectural career and became the most photographed Swiss body-model before he decided to follow his dream and move to Hollywood in order to become an actor.

Mike left Switzerland and moved to Los Angeles in 1995, learned the English language, studied the craft of acting, acquired skills in screenwriting and learned about the film business, the country and life in general.

On June 23, 2005 Mike was proud to become a U.S. Citizen.

During the first ten years, Mike had several leading roles in theater plays and small parts in independent films. What Mike has learned in his pursuit of happiness is summed up in his inspiring, no-budget documentary film "The Dreamers", which puts forth the philosophy that following one's dream is a stairway to heaven.

After several years of acting, Mike discovered his real passion, screenwriting. After writing several short films, Mike went on to write 20 feature screenplays, which have won awards and have been optioned eleven times.

Mike wrote, produced and directed his first short film "Inimicus" in 2015 and then wrote, produced and directed his first, micro-budget ($27k), award-winning feature film "Anonymous 616" in 2018.

Together with his wife, Jessica Boss, he founded a production company "Boss Pictures" with a clear vision, purpose and integrity. Together they strive to create compelling and thought-provoking feature films that take the audience on an emotional and intellectual journey to be entertained, moved, inspired and changed with a degree of enlightenment.
