Star Wars: Visions remembered: To-B1
Image
With season two of Star Wars: Visions coming in 2023, I wanted to look back at each short from season one and celebrate why they’re great. This is Visions Remembered.

Astro Boy is considered one of Japan’s most iconic anime series. It’s often considered the first successful anime in the United States to help the rise of the medium in Western cultures. So it’s no surprise that one of the Star Wars: Visions shorts would pay homage to the series with To-B1. And of course, there are plenty of nods to Mega Man too in there too!

Like The Twins and The Elder both from Studio Trigger, I like watching To-B1 back to back with a later entry in this series being Akakiri. That’s because they’re both from studio Science Saru. It shows the range of the studio by showcasing the more cute side of...

X-Men: All 6 Magneto actors ranked from worst to best
Patrick Stewart, James Marsden, and Hugh Jackman in X-Men (2000)
The X-Men are Marvel’s Mightiest Mutants, but none of them are mightier than Magneto. Perhaps the most powerful of all mutants, Erik Lehnsherr made his first appearance in the comics in 1963 and he has endured the test of time, remaining of the most widely-recognized X-Men characters to this day.

It’s not surprising when there are adaptations in the mainstream quite regularly, from the original X-Men movie series to the recent Disney Plus series X-Men ’97, he’s been at the forefront of many of the classic characters’ most well-known adventures. And his powers – and the drive behind them – continue to captivate audiences.

Magneto is a complicated individual, which makes him a powerful character in many senses of the word. He has the ability to manipulate and move metal with his mind, controlling magnetic fields all around him with ease. He's a longtime enemy of the X-Men, as well...

10 Weak Bleach Characters Who Became Unexpectedly Strong, Ranked
Image
More than a decade ago, Bleachdominated the anime world as one of Shonen Jump's iconic Big Three, and the Thousand-Year Blood War has brought life back into the franchise. Bleach fans have met a lot of powerful characters over the years, including Soul Reapers, Hollows, Quincy, and Fullbringers. Most of these characters have been strong since their debut, but others were considered fairly weak until they unexpectedly became strong.

Many seemingly weak Soul Reapers turned out to be hiding what they were truly capable of. A few innocent-looking Arrancar turned out to be as strong as Captain-level Soul Reapers. One character turned out to be a legitimate Kidō master, while another secretly had the power to destroy gods all along.

Kyoraku Struggles to Uphold Yamamoto's Legacy as Captain in Bleach: Tybw
Image
The Thousand-Year Blood War arc has forced the characters of Bleach into positions that they may not otherwise feel ready for. Upheaval has been a reoccurring event throughout the different arcs of this shonen. When Rukia Kuchiki came into Ichigo Kurosaki's life, she turned it on its head. When Ichigo and his friends invaded Soul Society, they revealed some of the flaws in the system and Sosuke Aizen showed his own hand for the first time. Now, Soul Society has been torn apart, and the Soul Reapers don't have the upper hand even on their own turf. Combined with the loss of Captain Commander Genryusai Yamamoto, Shunsui Kyoraku can only hope to fill the shoes that Yamamoto left for him to lead his people through this battle.

While Kyoraku's appointment to the captain commander position isn't controversial among Soul Reapers, there's an underlying feeling that he isn't Yamamoto among them.

Bleach Actor Suggests a Major Wedding Is Coming For the Anime at Last
Image
Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War has made a name for itself with all the major additions it's made to the manga's story, and it looks like fans are in for at least one more big change: a wedding. Once skipped over in the manga, fans may get to see this wedding in animated form.

When Thousand-Year Blood War began to be adapted, fans were eager to see the new series specifically because the ending of the manga was so rushed that it skipped over some very important scenes. While changes were minimal at first, they've grown more significant with each cour, and now the currently airing episodes have featured some major new scenes, particularly involving Uryu, making him into a character as important as he was always stated to be. Fans expect the fourth cour to include a substantial amount of added content, based on how much manga is left to adapt,...

Best Bleach Espada Battles, Ranked
Image
In Bleach, the Espada are considered the ten strongest Arrancar in Sosuke Aizen's army. Like other Arrancar, the Espada were once Menos-class Hollows who were granted Soul Reaper powers via the Hogyoku. As a result, they all possess a Zanpakuto, and they all have a Resurreccion release. Most of the Espada were Vasto Lorde or Adjuchas-level Menos, but one was a Gillian. The Espada were involved in several high-profile fights, but certain fights stand out more than others.

The majority of the best Espada fights involve Captain-level Soul Reapers who can use Bankai, but there is also a good fight that involved a current and former Espada. Most of these fights have great choreography, and they typically have high stakes. These fights also feature unique abilities and a fair bit of character development.

Arleen Sorkin, The Original Voice Of Harley Quinn, Has Died At 67
Image
A legend is no longer with us, for Arleen Sorkin has died at the age of 67. The news was first reported by voice actor Neil Kaplan and later confirmed by The Hollywood Reporter. She is survived by her husband and their two sons. DC Studios co-ceo James Gunn shared a tribute to Sorkin on Instagram, and her old friend and co-star Mark Hamill wrote: "Not just a wonderful talent, but a truly wonderful person. I'm grateful not only to have worked with her, but to have been her friend."

Mrs. Sorkin is most remembered for being the original voice of the DC Comics character Harley Quinn. She played the part across 17 years, beginning in "Batman: The Animated Series" in 1992 and for the last time in the 2009 video game, "Batman: Arkham Asylum." We'll talk about this part of her legacy soon, but first, let's be clear — Sorkin was not a one-trick pony.

Is Boruto A Tsukuyomi Dream? Why Naruto’s Most Popular Theory Can’t Work
Image
Boruto being Naruto’s Tsukuyomi dream would be one of the biggest plot twists in all of anime history, yet this popular Naruto Shippuden fan theory doesn’t really work. Seven years after the end of the Naruto manga, theories and speculations regarding the events of the series never stopped. With Boruto building up from Naruto Shippuden’s last-minute reveal of aliens and interdimensional portals, Naruto Shippuden’s final batch of episodes became even more important. Still, while Boruto has started to create its own legacy, there are still those who believe Naruto’s story is not really over and that the battle against Madara during the Fourth Great Ninja War never came to an end.

With the Boruto anime already close to its sixth year, the Naruto sequel has built a strong enough foundation to sustain what could be an equally long-running series. That said, Boruto is bound to be often compared with Naruto,...

The new Voltron features the voice talents of Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead) as Keith, Jeremy Shada (Adventure Time) as Lance,...
