  • Her first cinema film was for Hammer, Kiss of the Vampire (1962), when she was 18. She told Cinema Retro magazine that the only difficult scene was the finale when all the bats attacked everyone. "Only they didn't tell us they'd put a few live bats in with the rubber ones!".
  • Isobel Black's interest in education was extended when she became a Governor of The Southampton Institute in 1994, as the institute was evolving into Solent University.
  • She said that Warner Brothers offered her a seven-year contract in the 1960s but her agents told her she was better sticking to British films.
  • Married to director James Gatward, whom she met while starring in 'The Troubleshooters.'.
