Formed band Crunt with her then-husband, Stu Spasm, in 1993. The band released one album before breaking up in 1995 as Bjelland filed for divorce from Spasm.

Afterwards, she formed Sugar Babydoll with Courtney Love of Hole and Jennifer Finch of L7. After that band dissolved, she would again form a new band called Pagan Babies with Courtney Love, but this time with musicians Janis Tanaka and Deidre Schletter. Love left the band, so the band Pagan Babies went on to be called Italian Whorenuns, however the band was short-lived as Bjelland moved to Minnesota. It was then in 1987 that she formed Babes In Toyland with friend, Lori Barbero. Also formed bands Crunt and Katastrophy Wife in the 1990s.
