Jeff Biederman(I)

Jeff Biederman is an award-winning showrunner and writer. Mostly recently Jeff was the co-showrunner/co- writer/co-creator of the coming-of-age TV movie Life With Luca for Family Channel. The movie was a reboot of the hit family comedy Life With Derek, a 70 episode series he wrote and produced. Jeff was showrunner of season one of Second Jen for City TV and for two seasons of Spun Out, a multi- camera sitcom he co-created for CTV, starring Dave Foley. The show received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Comedy Series. Jeff has story edited over 250 episodes of television scripted television and web series for CTV, Rogers, CBC, Disney Channel, Family Channel, Teletoon, NBC, Discovery Kids and Netflix and has won a Canadian Screenwriting Award for Best Youth Writing. He was a Gemini nominee for Best Writing and a Gemini Winner for Best Youth Series for his writing/producing Life With Derek. Jeff's first showrunning job was on the comedy series Overruled!, a series he co-created. This series ran for 3 seasons and won the Gemini for Best Youth Series. Jeff also produced 26 episodes of Mudpit which was nominated for Best Youth Series. Jeff is a proven storyteller, teacher and mentor who has taught writing courses at Seneca College Broadcast Television Program and has guest lectured at The Canadian Film Centre, Centennial College, Toronto Metropolitan University and Humber College, and has been a mentor for Bell Media's Diverse Screenwriters Program, The Writer's Guild of Canada Writer to Writer Program and The National Screen Institute and BIPOC Kids TV Program.
