Steve’s UnRetirement, Jack’s Birthday, Adrienne’s Message on June 16 Days
Image
In the Monday, June 16 episode of Days of Our Lives, Philip woke up and he told Jada that it wasn’t Xander who gave him the beatdown. And while the Johnson/Deveraux families were grieving John, they also had reason to celebrate and reflect.

Happy 40th Anniversary, Stephen Nichols Adrienne’s Message

Unfortunately, Adrienne (loved seeing Judi Evans return as her Og character) wasn’t one of those back-from-the-dead miracles that always happen in Salem. Instead, she tells Steve (Stephen Nichols) that she’s with John (the late Drake Hogestyn) and she’s going to do her best to take care of him. This news comforted her brother.

Later, Steve had a crazy good flashback of the time Adrienne revealed to Steve that she was his sister. The Johnson family history is complicated, brutal, and dramatic, so seeing that particular flashback was wonderful. It was such a long time ago!

Shawn Spirals After Learning Bo’s Dying on the April 28 Days of Our Lives
Image
In the Monday, April 28 episode of Days of Our Lives, Johnny Dimera hashed out his feelings about the adoption with Marlena, who returned from Estonia with Steve. He said the last two weeks changed everything. While Chanel was beyond excited about the adoption, Johnny was the opposite. Meanwhile, Tate asked Sophia to the prom, and the Bradys found out that Bo was dying. This caused Shawn to spiral.

It’s Not Your Fault, Shawn

Hope (Kristian Alfonso) called Shawn (Brandon Beemer) and told him Bo (Peter Reckell) had taken a turn for the worse. He was dying, and hearing those words sent Shawn right back to the days when he continually blamed himself. Thankfully, he didn’t express an urge to drink and spiral in that way. Not yet, anyway.

Maybe it had to do with the fact that Jada (Elia Cantu) was right there comforting him. She could somewhat relate to Shawn.

Review: Babylon 5: The Complete Series
Image
At a time when syndicated science fiction was just Star Trek series, it took some guts on Warner Bros’ part to try something darker and more experimental with J. Michael Straczynski’s Babylon 5, designed to tell a sprawling epic that was more political than it was space opera. The show arrived thirty years ago and was successful enough to spawn spin-off five telefilms and a short-lived spinoff, spanning 1993-2007.

The core of it, the 110 episodes from the original five-season series, have been remastered and collected on a nice Blu-ray box set from Warner Home Entertainment. Also included is the original pilot film.

Set in the 23rd century, the Earth Alliance has found its place among star-faring races, notably the Minbari and the Centauri. Some of these races are fine with humans; others wish them gone. Then there are the Vorlons, and no one knows what they want.

Babylon 5 is a gigantic,...

Babylon 5: The Complete Series finally coming to Blu-ray this December
Image
It may have taken a long time to get here, but Babylon 5 is finally making the leap to Blu-ray. Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment announced today that all five seasons of the iconic sci-fi series will be released on Blu-ray on December 5th.

Babylon 5 has previously only been available on DVD and the image quality wasn’t always the best, so fans have been waiting for this moment for quite some time. You can check out the official box art for Babylon 5: The Complete Series below, which strangely doesn’t feature the titular space station.

All five seasons of Babylon 5 were scanned and remastered from the original camera negative in 4K, with a colour correction and the cleaning of dirt and scratches as well. The many CGI shots of the series have been digitally upscaled to HD, and short of a complete remaster, that’s probably...

The news Babylon 5 fans have been waiting for for over a decade finally broke late last month when the series creator. J. Michael Straczynski confirmed on social media that the hit 1990s sci-fi epic would return to our screens.

For fans, it has been a long road. A reboot to the series was mooted by Straczynski as early as the 2000s and generated a fair amount of heat before falling by the wayside. However, the announcement of an animated production, Babylon 5: The Road Home, will bring a new lease of life to the dream-given form. Here's why we're excited.

Babylon 5's Animated Cast Is the Best Way To Handle Certain Movies
Image
Babylon 5 is still considered a science fiction classic, with the series pushing sci-fi television forward and becoming acclaimed in the process. There have been attempts to reignite the series' magic, including through a reboot envisioned by creator J. Michael Straczynski. While that idea's future is still up in the air, another one's just been announced as on the way. Unexpected by even hardcore fans, this project may be the best way to add to the original series' legacy.

Babylon 5: The Road Home will be an animated movie that continues with the events seen in the show. Unfortunately, many actors from the classic series are sadly deceased, making it difficult to continue their characters' stories. Thankfully, the new Babylon 5 film will work around this issue with a solution both ingenious and utterly obvious. Here's how it will be able to push the original story forward, even without some of the actors required.

Babylon 5: the wonder that is Stephen Furst’s Vir Cotto
Jules-Pierre Malartre Jun 28, 2017

We salute a much-loved Babylon 5 character, played by the much-missed Stephen Furst...

A little less than a year ago, in the wake of Jerry Doyle’s passing, Babylon 5 creator J.M. Straczynski made a passionate plea to the universe; too many B5 alumni had died already. Following the untimely deaths of Michael O’Hare, Richard Biggs, Andreas Katsulas, Jeff Conaway, and more recently Jerry Doyle, Straczynski was “goddamned tired of it” and he asked the universe to “knock it off for a while”.

Unfortunately, the universe didn’t listen since on June 16, Stephen Furst joined his fellow departed B5 co-stars on “the other side of the veil”.

Most will remember Furst as lovable Kent 'Flounder' Dorfman in the 1978 cult classic Animal House, but to sci-fi...

Babylon 5: 14 alternatives to a straight reboot
There are plenty of interesting directions a return to the Babylon 5 universe could take. Here are a few suggestions...

I read somewhere that J.M. Straczynski writes every day. That’s not surprising given his extensive body of work for television, motion pictures, novels and comics. He is best known for Babylon 5, of course. I remember what a lot of people used to say about Babylon 5, “How much can happen on a space station?” Well, a lot actually! And after five seasons of the original series, a bunch of made-for-tv movies and a couple of spin-offs, there are still plenty of stories left to tell.

That is why I was excited recently to read that Joe (apparently, he thinks you’re cool if you just call him Joe) was going back to work on Babylon 5. My excitement soon turned to dread when I found out that...

For many fans of Babylon 5, the departure of Michael O’Hare (who played the Commander Jeffrey Sinclair on the J. Michael Straczynski created series) was a huge blow to a syndicated series that faced an uncertain future during its five year run. Some felt it odd, considering how much groundwork was being laid on Sinclair –both during the shows first season and what had been established before the shows start. Sinclair seemed to be important cog within Jms long-term, five year arc.

But in 1994, after the first season had wrapped, it was announced that O’Hare would not return for season two, and Bruce Boxleitner was announced as O’Hare’s replacement (albeit, a different character). At the time, the reason for his departure was explained as creative and that O’Hare –who spent a good portion of his acting career in...

On March 15, this past Friday, the Coming Attractions message forum community lost a dear friend. His name was Jason Lizik, but to many hundreds of people that share a love for movies and fandom, they knew Jason by his username, Jakester.
