Dibyendu Bhattacharya(I)

Dibyendu Bhattacharya is an Indian actor who works in Hindi, and Bengali cinema and has also been seen in famous web series. After finishing his studies at Behala Arya Vidya Mandir High School, he went on to attend Vivekananda College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. Dibyendu is also a proud holder of a certificate from the prestigious National School of Drama.

In 2001, Bhattacharya entered the film industry with the comedy-drama Le mariage des moussons (2001), in which he co-starred with Naseeruddin Shah and Lillete Dubey. In 2005, Bhattacharya was cast alongside Aamir Khan and Rani Mukerji in the historical drama Mangal Pandey: The Rising (2005) (2005), directed by Ketan Mehta.

Since then, he has acted in several Bengali and Hindi films and television shows. He is recognised for his role as Chunni in the movie Dev.D (2009) and the Hotstar web series Criminal Justice (2019) (2019), in which he plays Layak Talukdar. He has also appeared in cameos for popular mainstream movies like Black Friday (2004) (2004), Dhan Dhana Dhan Goal (2007) (2007), and Chittagong (2012) (2012).

In the following years, he made appearances in films, including Ab Tak Chhappan (2004) (2004), Maqbool, le parrain de Bombay (2003) (2003), Lootera (2013) (2013), B.A. Pass (2012) (2012), and Guddu Rangeela (2015) (2015). Bhattacharya also starred in the Emmy-nominated Netflix thriller Le Seigneur de Bombay (2018) (2018) alongside Saif Ali Khan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui.

He also appeared in the Netflix anthology drama Signé Satyajit Ray (2021) (2021), starring Manoj Bajpayee, Ali Fazal, and Kay Kay Menon. The same year, Bhattacharya accepted the role of inspector Biswa in the TV drama Jamtara (2020) (2021), directed by Soumendra Padhi. Bhattacharya was nominated for Most Popular Supporting Actor in a Web Series in the IWM Digital Awards for this role.
