Giannis Bezos is a prominent Greek actor, director, and singer, widely recognized for his comedic roles on television and stage. Born and raised in Athens, with family roots in Kerastari, Arcadia, he was first discovered by Thymios Karakatsanis during a theatre performance. Early in his career, he worked with legendary actress Aliki Vougiouklaki, but his fame grew significantly through popular TV series such as Oi aparadektoi (1991), Tis Ellados ta paidia (1993), Ekeines & ego (1996), Vios anthospartos (1998), Akros oikogeneiakon (2001), Eftyhismenoi mazi (2007) and Kliniki periptosi (2011). Many of these series involved close collaboration with director and friend Andreas Morfonios, and Bezos has also directed some himself.
Bezos has appeared in numerous theatrical productions since the 1980s, including acclaimed classical Greek plays like Frogs and Lysistrata. In 2009, he co-directed and starred in the musical La Cage aux Folles at the Pallas Theatre.
Known also for his vocal talent, Bezos has performed musically in concerts and collaborated on albums with notable Greek composers such as Giorgos Hatzinasios, Notis Mavroudis, and Thanos Mikroutsikos. He voiced Manny in the Greek versions of the Ice Age film series.
In his personal life, he has been married since 1987 to actress Natalia Tsaliki, with whom he has a daughter, actress Iro Bezou. Politically outspoken, Bezos ran as a candidate for the Democratic Left party in the 2012 parliamentary elections in a non-electable position and supported the 2013 Initiative for the Democratic Progressive Alliance (Initiative of the 58). He is also a dedicated supporter of Olympiacos F.C..
