Ugo Betti was born on 4 February 1892 in Camerino, Macerata, Marche, Italy. He was a writer, known for Bengasi (1942), Quarta pagina (1942) and L'adultera (1946). He died on 9 June 1953 in Rome, Lazio, Italy.
His play, "Summertime," was performed at the Streatham Hill Theatre in Streatham Hill, London, England in 1955 and at the Apollo Theatre in London, England with Geraldine McEwan, Gwen Ffrangcon-Davies, Esma Cannon, Dirk Bogarde, Tony Church, Michael Gwynn, Mark Dignam, and Ronald Barker in the cast. Peter Hall was director.
