- Met Katy Manning when they both worked on Docteur Who (1963). They were engaged and stayed together 1974-1976 In 1977 he met Virginia Moore and they had two daughters, Wendy Bevan and Coral Bevan. They continued to enjoy life as a family until his death in 2022.
- Before acting, in his teenage years he worked as a Manager of Pierre Cardin's menswear shop in London.
- His parents worked for Raymond Bessone. For 45 years, he was the companion of actress Virginia Moore with whom he had 2 daughters.
- Trained at the Corona Theatre School in London.
