Experienced cinematographer with feature film, TV series, commercial, and documentary skills. Bessonoff is the last camera assistant for cinematographer Georg I. Rerberg, who is known as Tarkovsky's cinematographer, e.g., for the films "Mirror" and "Stalker."
Pauli Bessonoff is a cinematographer known for the movies "Siivoton Juttu" (I Hired Two Contract Cleaners, 1997), "Viisi Tytärtäni" (1997), "Viimeiset Mitalit" (2000), "Tuulikaappimaa" (2003), "Jäät" (2010), and the television series "Kotikatu" (1998-2012). Bessonoff has filmed many documentaries, such as "Siegh Heil Suomi" (1994) and "Karen & Grigori" (2014). Bessonoff also created a TV spot, "Thunderheart," which won GOLD (main award) at Promax Global Excellence, Los Angeles, in the category of Best Sports Program General Image Spot (2013).
Education: Master of Arts in Cinema, UIAH (Taideteollinen Korkeakoulu), 1997, and Bachelor's degree in Vocational Teaching, Haaga-Helia School of Professional Teacher Education, 2023. Bessonoff is an independent filmmaker and teaches cinema and cinematography at Stadin Ammattiopisto, Helsinki, Finland, Stadin Ammattiopisto (Elokuvan- ja videon polku).
Since 2008, he has been a member of the Finnish Society of Cinematographers (F.S.C).
