Trivia

  • James Berwick, under the name of James Kenny, and his wife Belita were in the cast together of the 1958 production of 'Ulysses in Nighttown' directed by Burgess Meredith at the Rooftop Theater.
  • This Irish-born actor was married to skating star Belita from 1967 until his death in 2000. James Kenny was his real name but "James Berwick" was the UK stage moniker he used when he worked in the USA. He had to use the moniker when working in the UK because, under Equity rules, there could not be two Equity actors with the same name (even if it had different spellings). At the time there was another English actor who went by the name James Kenney (1930-1982), with an added "e" in his last name. By sheer coincidence, his real name was Kenneth Berwick! As a result, the two actors were often confused with each other.
  • Was offered the key supporting role in the film Big Hand for a Little Lady because the director had liked his performance in the same part in the television version several years earlier. This was James' only big screen role of any importance.
