Graduated from Hamilton High School Academy of Music in Los Angeles.

Majored in Philosophy & Religion at San Francisco State University, then switched to Anthropology.

Is cousin of Broadway entertainer Mike Burstyn, and great-niece of Columbia Recording artist and comedian Pesach Burstein.

Daughter of the late comedian, Jay Lester.
