    She was the voice of 'Vicki' for the British Political Warfare Executive, broadcasting disinformation (over a 500 kilowatt transmitter code named Aspidistra) and sowing dissent in the German ranks. She worked on air with journalist Sefton Delmer, Future James Bond creator Ian Fleming, and Otto John who had come to work on the program straight from having escaped Germany after his part in the 20 July 1944 plot to assassinate Adolf Hitler. She was later troubled to learn that the Nazis executed people just for listening to her.
