    • Tristan Bernard was born on September 7, 1866 in Besançon, Doubs, France. He was a writer and actor, known for Le petit café (1931), Runaway Ladies (1938) and Playboy of Paris (1930). He was married to Suzanne Bonsel. He died on December 7, 1947 in Paris, France.

However, in 1943 he was taken to the Drancy internment camp in Paris and was only able to escape deportation to a concentration camp through the personal intervention of Sacha Guitry and Arletty. However, he lost a grandson at Mathausen.
