Clifton played Dillon, the son of Tracy (Jane Elliot) and Paul (Richard Burgi), from 2003 to 2007. During that time, Dillon was part of Port Charles’ teen scene, along with Lulu (then Julie Berman), Maxie (Kirsten Storms), Brook Lynn (then Adrianne León), and the late Georgie (Lindze Letherman). In June 2010, Carly (Laura Wright) hired Brook Lynn (then played by Adrienne Leon) to break up Lulu (then played by Julie Marie Berman) and Dante (Dominic Zamprogna). Carly was upset that Dante, a cop, had exposed Michael’s (Chad Duell) role in Claudia’s (Sarah Joy Brown) murder. Brook Lynn drugged Dante and made it look like they had slept together, but the plan ultimately failed when Dante remained loyal to Lulu. Like a true blue soap couple, for Geary (ex-Luke) and Gama, the week of Valentine’s Day doubles as the week of their wedding anniversary. With the impending recast of Lulu on General Hospital, it seems only natural that there would be complications. Sure enough, on the August 20 episode, it was revealed that her liver is failing. Liver transplants are commonplace, and considering Jonathan Jackson is returning as her brother, Lucky, he might be able to donate part of his liver to save her life. However, that’s most likely not the case, and her other brother may have to come to the rescue.

Could History Repeat Itself?

When Lulu was a little kid, she was diagnosed with aplastic anemia, which required a bone marrow transplant. Lucky (Jonathan Jackson) was not a viable match, so from out of the woodwork came their unknown other sibling, Nikolas (then Tyler Christopher), the long-lost son of their mother, Laura (Genie Francis). His arrival in town saved Lulu’s life, but his existence tore Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura apart.

General Hospital viewers have wondered if the writers were working on waking Lulu (formerly Emme Rylan) up from her comatose state.

She’s been heavily discussed, and with Lucky (Johnathan Jackson) returning, bringing her back would be perfect.

Earlier this week, rumors began spreading that Lulu would return, and Emme Rylan confirmed that.

Unfortunately, Emme won’t return to the role she held for seven years before being let go in 2020.

That means that a casting call that went out for “Lauren” was for the Spencer daughter.

Recently, on Gh, it has been looking like Lulu Spencer could wake up from her coma soon. In a recent episode, her mom, Laura Spencer Collins, and her ex-husband, Dante Falconeri, went to visit her in the long-term care facility.

It was quite an emotional visit and led to many suspicions that Lulu may possibly awaken at long last. Now, we know she is, in fact, coming back onto the General Hospital scene.

Lulu appeared to have recovered and was about to tell her ex-husband, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna), that she still loved him. Suddenly, she collapsed and went into a coma.

The character has been in a coma ever since. Speculation was fueled when Dante and Laura Collins (Genie Francis) visited Lulu last month.

In an Instagram story published on Tuesday, Emme Rylan confirmed reports that “General Hospital” is indeed seeking to recast the role of Lulu Spencer, a character Rylan portrayed from 2013-2020 on the ABC daytime drama series.

“Yes, it’s true. ‘Gh’ has decided to recast Lulu,” opened the caption on Rylan’s post. “Although I am very disappointed with their choice, I am glad to finally have closure. (And thank goodness ‘Gh’ brought all of you fabulous people into my life! Love you guys!).”

Rylan’s comments come after TV Insider revealed on Monday that the show had issued a casting call for a character named “Lauren,” described as a 34-40-year-old blonde, white woman who is “beautiful, dynamic, and fiery.” Additionally, the character is said to have overcome “challenging circumstances and is now stronger and more determined than ever.”
