Brigitte Berman recently finished a new documentary film, Hugh Hefner's After Dark: Speaking out in America (2018). Previously she completed, The River of My Dreams: A Portrait of Gordon Pinsent in 2017. She is known for her films Artie Shaw: Time Is All You've Got (1985) which won an Academy Award for Best Documentary (feature), and the films Hugh Hefner: Playboy, Activist and Rebel (2009) and Bix: 'Ain't None of Them Play Like Him Yet' (1981).
