Highlander Reboot With Henry Cavill Gets Disappointing Production Update
Image
Action-adventure fans have been waiting a long time for director Chad Stahelski and star Henry Cavills Highlander reboot, and unfortunately it sounds like were all going to be waiting a little longer. As per a report by Redanian Intelligence, production of the Highlander reboot has now been delayed due to Cavills new role in the upcoming Voltron movie for Amazon MGM Studios.

But, before you throw your sword into the air and scream at the sky, the report does reveal that Highlander is still set to go into production in 2025. The fantasy epic has reportedly been delayed from January 2025 to May 2025, with earlier delays being due to Stahelskis reshooting a very significant portion of Ballerina, the John Wick spinoff.

On the positive side of things, the report goes on to state that very early pre-production for Highlander has already started in September and should pick up as time goes on.

Henry Cavill's Highlander Movie Reboot Still Needs To Use This 9-Year-Old Villain Casting
Image
The Highlander reboot with Henry Cavill lacks specific details about the cast and plot. Dave Bautista, previously rumored for a role, is still seen as the ideal choice for the villain. Bautista's diverse performances make him a compelling choice to face off against Cavill.

A Highlander reboot starring Henry Cavill is in development, and nine years ago, one actor was rumored to play the villain in the movie. The upcoming film, which doesn't have a release date yet, will be a remake of the 1986 fantasy action-adventure film directed by Russell Mulcahy and written by Gregory Widen, Peter Bellwood, and Larry Ferguson. Although Highlander was a box office failure (it grossed $12.8 million against a $19 million budget) and received mixed reviews, the movie went on to become a cult classic, resulting in sequels, television spin-offs, and now a reboot.

Not much is known about the Highlander reboot, meaning that speculation regarding its cast,...

Highlander Reboot Wants Henry Cavill in the Lead
Image
Henry Cavill may have just found his next major franchise role. Per Deadline, the Man of Steel and The Witcher star is in talks for a lead role in Lionsgate's upcoming Highlander reboot. The movie will be directed by Chad Stahelski, who co-directed John Wick before helming both of its sequels. No plot details have been revealed and it's unclear if Cavill would be playing Connor MacLeod or an original character created for the reboot.

Neal H. Moritz, Josh Davis, and David Leitch are producing the Highlander reboot. Amanda Lewis, Patrick Wachsberger, and Gregory Widen are on board to executive produce. Prior to his passing in February, original Highlander producer Peter Davis was also set to produce the new movie. There have been efforts for years to get a reboot of the movie series off the ground, but Deadline reports that the project is now finally "into position to get into production.

Billy Bob Thornton and Edward Burns Take ‘Three Nights’; ‘Harry Potter’ Actress Evanna Lynch Serving ‘Monster Butler’
With the exception of, in some cases, Bad Santa, most would agree that Billy Bob Thornton‘s best, recent outing would have to be Friday Night Lights — he and Peter Berg are in this same camp, now that I think about it — which, having an overactive mind, gets me thinking history played a big part in this next career step. Or, maybe he just likes baseball.

According to Variety, he and Edward Burns are taking the top spots in Three Nights, director David Anspaugh‘s (Rudy, Hoosiers) big-screen take on Three Nights in August, a sports memoir from… Friday Night Lights author H.G. “Buzz” Bissinger. (Yes, that’s what I took too long to build up to.) Unlike that seminal account of high school football, however, Three Nights is a fictionalized portrayal of strategic choices made by St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony Larussa during a three-game, 2003 series against the Chicago Cubs.
