A new tribute album celebrating the music of Canadian hard rockers Triumph is set to drop June 6th via Round Hill Records. Sebastian Bach’s rendition of “Rock & Roll Machine” can be streamed below.

Magic Power: An All-Star Tribute to Triumph lives up to its billing and features a stacked cast of musicians including Bach, Slash, Nancy Wilson of Heart, Anthrax’s Joey Belladonna, Dee Snider, Phil X, Deen Castronovo, and more.

The 15-track album was conceived by veteran rock producer Mike Clink, who brought in skilled instrumentalists to match the vocal talent: drummers Kenny Aronoff and Tommy Aldridge, and guitarists Alex Lifeson, Bumblefoot, Paul Gilbert, and Nita Strauss, in addition to Slash (who contributes slide guitar to the track “I Life for the Weekend”).

Joey Belladonna has been back as Anthrax’s lead singer for roughly 15 years now, but not before being fired twice by the legendary thrash metal act. During his time away from the band, the vocalist worked a few odd jobs, including one at a horse barn.

While he wasn’t Anthrax’s original singer (there was a revolving door of vocalists in the early ’80s), Belladonna helped establish the band as one of the premier thrash acts from 1984 to 1992, singing on four of their classic albums: Spreading the Disease (1985), Among the Living (1987), State of Euphoria (1988), and Persistence of Time (1990).

Belladonna was ousted from the band in 1992, and replaced by John Bush for most of the ’90s and into the 2000s. He returned in 2005, but was replaced by Dan Nelson in 2007, before returning in 2010. He has remained a member of Anthrax since then, appearing on their two most recent LPs, Worship...

Anthrax singer Joey Belladonna is paying homage to the late Ronnie James Dio with a new tribute act.

Belladonna and his wife Krista will be performing songs from throughout Dio’s career — including his time in Black Sabbath and Rainbow — across four Florida concert dates in August, which can be seen below.

Wrote the singer on Facebook: “Krista and I are proud to announce our new tribute band to Ronnie James Dio! A night of songs from Dio, Sabbath, and Rainbow!”

According to Belladonna’s website, the tribute will see performances of Dio’s most iconic songs, namely: Dio’s “Holy Diver” and “Rainbow in the Dark”; Black Sabbath’s “Heaven and Hell” and “Neon Knights”; and Rainbow’s “Man on the Silver Mountain” and “Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

Anthrax are currently working on their long-awaited new album at Dave Grohl’s Studio 606 in Los Angeles, and were recently paid a visit by the Foo Fighters frontman himself. Grohl even sat behind Charlie Benante’s drum kit and played a bit of Nirvana’s “Scentless Apprentice.”

Benante shared a video on Instagram of Grohl testing out the Anthrax stickman’s kit. At one point in the clip, Benante is heard saying, “Play ‘Senseless Apprentice’ once.” Despite Benante flubbing the song title, Grohl obliged. After a couple of restarts, the Nirvana drummer played the beginning of the In Utero track.

Anthrax also shared pics of Grohl hanging out with the band in the studio, including one with him posing with Anthrax members Benante, Frank Bello, and Scott Ian, along with producer Jay Ruston and Ian’s son Revel. The band captioned the pics, “New album is going to be awesome ☄️...

Anthrax singer Joey Belladonna sang “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the Denver Broncos game on Sunday (October 29th), bringing the underdog home team good luck against the Kansas City Chiefs.

The vocalist received a big cheer from the crowd as he was introduced at Empower Field at Mile High Stadium in Denver as follows: “Performing the anthem today is the legendary singer for the six-time Grammy-nominated heavy metal band Anthrax. Please welcome Joey Belladonna.”

Belladonna proceeded to sing the National Anthem flawlessly, hitting a few big notes along the way. The metal singer is an experienced anthem singer, having sung “The Star-Spangled Banner” at numerous sporting events over the years.

Anthrax singer Joey Belladonna has booked a series of US tour dates with his Journey tribute band Beyond Frontiers. The dates will take place at the end of this month, as well as in October and November.

The tour kicks off with a brief West Coast jaunt starting August 22nd in San Diego, and running through August 26th in Roseville, California. In October, Belladonna and company will play a handful of shows in the Midwest and on the East Coast, and in November, they’ll perform three gigs in Florida, ending with a November 19th show in Cocoa Beach.

Thrash legends Anthrax have hit the studio to work on their new album, the long-awaited follow-up to 2016’s For All Kings.

The band revealed the news in a press release, sharing a photo of core instrumental members Scott Ian, Charlie Benante, and Frank Bello alongside producer Jay Ruston. Ian and company are currently laying down tracks before vocalist Joey Belladonna and lead guitarist Jonathan Donais add their respective parts.

Heavy Consequence caught up with Benante earlier this year for a joint interview with Exodus’ Gary Holt, and he briefly discussed the band’s recording plans and working around his own busy schedule as the current drummer for Pantera.

Chicago – Watching a heavy metal band perform during daylight can be a little like watching a horror film with the lights on. The overall performance can sometimes lose a bit of its edge and intensity.

Fortunately that was not the case when the main acts took the stage for the “Chicago Open Air” concert at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill. First up in that daylight, on the cool and breezy Friday afternoon of July 14th, 2017 – the first night of the three-day event – was the legendary thrash metal performers Anthrax, followed by the Megadeth, and then in the evening by Rob Zombie and the iconic rockers Kiss.

Anthrax, led by Joey Belladonna’s passion and high velocity vocals, matched the fury from the zealous crowd. The band opened with “Caught in a Mosh,” and bookended their performance with “Indians.” In between, Scott Ian’s shredding guitar, and the band’s fevered...

Thrash metal progenitors Anthrax tore through a terrifying rendition of their new track "Monster at the End" on Late Night With Seth Meyers Wednesday.

Frontman Joey Belladonna manned the chugging track with ominous, anthemic verve while the performance also highlighted the interplay between longtime guitarist Scott Ian and relatively new lead guitarist Jonathan Donais. The duo unleashed a menacing duel during the bridge, while Ian later anchored Donais' head-spinning solo.

"Monster at the End" appears on Anthrax's new album, For All Kings, which was released in February and marks their first since 2011's Worship Music.

There's a revelation on Anthrax's "Anthems" Ep: Rush's music is annoying, no matter who plays it.

The speed metal kings, driven by drummer Charlie Benante's infatuation with early Neil Peart, chose Rush's "Anthem" as the inspiration for their eight-track Ep in which they cover classic 1970s rock bands that influenced them. Suffice it to say the jarring stop-and-start timing and riffing of a Rush song doesn't work with the heaviest of heavy metal bands, either.

But the rest of this all-too-short disc is like hard-rock comfort food, hewing closely to the originals, with some special Anthrax sauce on the side. Best is a cover of Cheap Trick's "Big Eyes," which blends the band's melody with Anthrax's harder edge.

"Smokin'" is a cover of the classic Boston ode to inhalables, and "Jailbreak" puts a fine point on the Thin Lizzy classic.

Steel Panther have built a massive following since the release of 2009’s debut “Feel the Steel”. Parodying all that was 80’s American hair/glam metal excess (think Poison and Motley Crue), some critics may have questioned the longevity of what is essentially “just” a comedy band. Well fast forward to 2012, and I’m glad to report they’d be eating their words.

Selling out an almost 2000 capacity venue on a Wednesday night is pretty darn impressive and it’s nice to see some costume clad revellers amongst the crowd. Peering through the wigs, I spot several children – I’m going to assume the parents have took the time to listen to the band, and have mentally prepared for “Little Jimmy” asking what “two in the pink and one in the stink” actually means.

2011 is truly a historic year for metal veterans Anthrax, who are celebrating 30 years of solid, take-no-prisoners thrash/speed metal. Reunited with vocalist Joey Belladonna – who last recorded with them over two decades ago on Persistence of Time – the band made a momentous return this week to their old stomping grounds in New York City to play at Yankee Stadium along with fellow metal gods Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth (the grand climax of the "Big Four" tour that began last spring), and now they've unleashed their tenth studio album Worship Music, their first new record in over eight years. It seems the stars of the metal cosmos have aligned perfectly for the band... but does that harmonic convergence come...

Accusations will always follow Sonisphere festival – usually aimed from those most preposterously pretentious metal fans who frequent supposedly non-mainstream festivals like Bloodstock – that Sonisphere is little more than a sell-out event, aimed at watered-down metal fans of pop-edged bands who have long since let go their grip on creative integrity in favour of the almighty dollar.

But 2011′s fest boasted one of the most impressive line-ups rock festivals have seen for a good long while, thanks largely to the promise of the Big Four playing together on one stage in one glorious night, as well as talent from across almost every sub-genre of rock from pop-punk (Weezer, YouMeAtSix), to comedy-tinged re-imaginings (Hayseed Dixie, Richard Cheese) and the bona-fide megastars of Slipknot, Biffy Clyro

And no matter what pigeon-hole those bands might fall into, a festival experience that includes so much breadth, and so much inclusive passion for music in general...

Indio, California — One week after indie hipsters and pop enthusiasts stood on the same desert ground for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, an estimated 55,000 metal fans watched "The Big 4" of thrash share a U.S. stage together for the first time.

"This is history tonight and you're part of it," Metallica frontman James Hetfield told the crowd Saturday at the Empire Polo Fields in Indio, California. "Anthrax, Megadeth, Slayer and Metallica as one — with you!"

As members of all four bands gathered together toward the end of Metallica's set to perform the Diamond Head classic "Am I Evil?," fans roared. The group of friends, sometime rivals and ex-bandmates embraced one another affectionately and shared wide smiles.

Last week, the official lineup of the 2011 Coachella Festival announced to the world that the summer concert season is closer than everybody thinks (this despite the fact that snow continues to fall at an alarming rate in most of the country). Only a week later, the Coachella lineup has already been upstaged by another concert that happens to be going down a week later at the very same venue. On Saturday, April 23, Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth and Anthrax will come together at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California for a one-day-only event that is unprecedented in the world of metal. Though the "Big 4" have played a handful of shows in Europe, this is the only show they'll do in the United States, and it promises to be a huge day for anybody who has ever banged his or her head to some classic metal riffs.

Rocker Ryan Adams felt inspired after paying his respects to Ronnie James Dio at his funeral - the day after the ceremony he wrote 11 new tracks. More than 1,200 devotees attended the public memorial service, held at Forest Lawn Hollywood Hills in Los Angeles on May 30.

The tribute featured performances from former Black Sabbath star Glenn Hughes, Anthrax's Joey Belladonna and the star's Dio bandmates Claude Schnell and Scott Warren. And Adams was so moved by the service, he rushed home to work on some new music.

In a post on his Facebook.com page, he writes, "Eleven new solo tunes came out of nowhere. Day after Dio's funeral they just fell out. Soft mellow acoustic jams - lots of New Orleans scenery and vibe from the trip... I am official(ly) very excited again."...

Anthrax is a band that holds a special place in the hearts of many Fangoria readers. Original Fango editor Bob Martin even appeared in the band's video for "Madhouse" off of their Spreading The Disease album (more on that here). Now comes word that Megaforce Records is set to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the band's 1984 debut with a limited edition vinyl release of Fistful Of Metal.
