Humor for me is a weapon. When you're not popular and you're standing on the sidelines, you develop a keen sense of observation. At some point, I learned those observations could be funny, and that being funny was a way of being popular. I think that people who were really popular in high school never go beyond that. Most successful people I know now were square pegs in high school.
