- Allen Baron was born on April 14, 1927 in Brooklyn, New York, USA. He is a director and writer, known for Baby Boy Frankie (1961), L'immortel (1969) and Terror in the City (1964).
- With the 2008 release of the film noire classic Baby Boy Frankie (1961) by Criterion, Baron is enjoying a resurgence of popularity. Once hailed as the new 'Orson Welles (I)' upon the film's release, he never achieved the fame or popularity he deserved as the film was never supported by the distributors or Hollywood studios. Baron nevertheless went on to achieve great success directing a variety of network television shows in a career that spanned four decades.
- Met producer/cinematographer Merrill S. Brody in kindergarten. The two went on to make the Noir cult classic, Baby Boy Frankie (1961), together.
