Known for his iconic performances in movies like Indiana Jones and Star Wars, Harrison Ford has a reputation for being a brilliant actor. He’s not the kind of man who seems to have many professional regrets; however, one role that he regrets having turned down was that of a CIA operative in the 2005 political thriller movie Syriana.
George Clooney eventually played Bob Barnes. He did a great job and even won the prestigious Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his exceptional performance.

Following the success of Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone franchise, a wave of neo-Western shows has swept TV, with Landman being only the latest example. Telling the stories of different men and women involved in the oil industry, the series deals with issues of dangerous working conditions, family drama, corruption and politics. For some movies, it's as much a question of tone and style as it is subject matter, with plenty of fellow neo-Western dramas to watch.
Landman belongs firmly in the realm of contemporary Western, but its exploration of the oil industry puts it alongside other projects too. Ranging from political thrillers to epic classics from the '50s, audiences have no shortage of excellent follow-up movies and shows to enjoy. Considering his footprint in modern cinema and TV, Sheridan's own career is packed full of brilliant films that deserve to be watched after Landman.

George Clooney has had some perilously close calls throughout his lifetime, including two dangerous motorcycle accidents about a decade apart while still in the prime of his career. His closest brush with death, though, came as the result of an acting role as CIA officer Bob Barnes in the film Syriana. A critically lauded movie, Syriana peered into global politics...

Martin Scorsese has worked with a variety of actors, but so far, he has never worked with Harrison Ford, though he almost starred in one of his most controversial movies. Although Martin Scorsese is mostly known for his gangster movies, he has explored a variety of genres in his career as a filmmaker. Like many other directors, Scorsese has also built his own list of frequent collaborators, but surprisingly, he hasn't worked with some of the biggest actors in the film industry.
Some of Scorsese's most frequent collaborators are Harvey Keitel, Robert De Niro, and Leonardo DiCaprio, and given Scorsese’s success in different decades, it’s surprising that he hasn’t worked with many legendary actors. The long-awaited Scorsese/Al Pacino team-up, for example, didn’t happen until 2019 in The Irishman, and there are still many others that haven’t happened yet, though some were close to becoming a reality at some point.

Film sets can be dangerous places to work. There are so many moving pieces — actors, crew, cameras, props, sets, stunts — that are often in motion, sometimes simultaneously, that things can too easily go wrong. And on the stunt front, where sequences intentionally put performers in physical danger, situations may get downright deadly.
Thankfully, most sets employ experienced stunt coordinators to make sure everything happens as planned. Ted Sharon, a teacher at the Society of American Fight Directors, explained the role of a stunt coordinator to Backstage. "A qualified stunt coordinator will be able to describe as well as demonstrate, or have an assistant who can execute the sequence," he said. "Good stunt coordinators have a healthy regard for actor safety as well as for the director's vision. They are the guardians of both on set."
Still, no matter how much care is taken to make sure everyone has rehearsed, equipment's been checked,...

It largely speaks to how different the landscape of Hollywood used to be compared to our present that even though Harrison Ford has been immortalized in two of pop culture's biggest Blockbuster franchises, he still has had a long and fulfilling career outside of those bubbles. Maybe it's the transition into IP-driven pictures and cinematic universes, but where most actors these days often find themselves stuck typecast, Ford thrived beyond his time as Han Solo and Indiana Jones. Outside of being Spielberg and Lucas's collaborator, he's worked with many prolific directors from Ridley Scott, Peter Weir, Francis Ford Coppola, and Mike Nichols.
Though he oozes expressive, rugged charm that we tend to associate with our greatest movie stars, one thing Ford doesn't have a lot of is Academy recognition. In fact, he's been nominated for Best Actor only once for his performance in 1985's "Witness," so there's a surprising lack...
