Laura Banks got her first break in Star Trek II the Wrath of Khan, piloting the USS Reliant Spaceship with Ricardo Montalban. That lead to being discovered by Roger Corman to star in Wheels of Fire and Demon of Paradise. Her third starring role in Retreads, with Michael Rooker co-starring, went to multiple festivals before foreign rights were acquired for overseas distribution with Warner Bros.

She went on to become a bestselling author of humor books with Simon and Schuster. Her last book, Embracing Your Big Fat Ass, an Owner's Manual, was with William Morris for TV representation. It was also bought by Warner Books in Germany. Her book before that, Breaking the Rules, Last Ditch Tactics for Landing the Man of Your Dreams, was with Ari Emmanuel at Endeavor before they merged with William Morris with more TV/film interest from Bette Midler and Cher.

Laura's background is performing stand up and improvisational comedy. She was a regular at the famous Improvisation in NYC as well as the Comedy Cellar. She had in improv comedy troupe with Whoopi Goldberg entitled, Spontaneous Combustion. Alan Spencer discovered Laura and put her in Hexed for Columbia Pictures.
